I thought it was great, right on par with s1. Plot of s1 was probably better and more original than this one but this one excelled with character stuff. They nailed it. Every main character got an equal share of the story and most were as entertaining as the others
Actually, the one I felt most bored watching was........Elevens. Which is shocking because she was so good in s1. I liked the stuff with her and Hopper but I really did not dig the episode when she met Eight at all and her meeting her mother didn't do much for me either. I was real happy to see her and Mike reunited but even when she came back she didn't add a whole lot imo. It's sad because like I said she was the standout in s1. I hope she improves next season.
Madmax is fine. Billy is sorta comical. Paul Reiser was good as the doctor, I was glad he survived and glad he didn't end up being a shadowy government douche. But the best new character was my man Bob. NOT BOB!!!!!!! His death was sad. He started off as such a dweeb but he was a very nice man who deserved better. Him having to sneak off and get the power back on was so similar to his character from 24. I got Jurassic Park vibes from that entire escape sequence, there's one shot of Hopper and co running through the lobby that feels almost identical to a JP shot, wouldn't be surprised if that's what they were going for since they heavily borrow from similar movies from that era
Steve remains my favorite. I was so worried he'd die this season and thought he was fucked when they were escaping from the vine tunnel. Him and Dustin together was fun. Dustin was a dummy at the start of the season with Dart
But the standout was definitely Will. That kid acted the shit out of this season. I was really surprised because he had such a backseat during s1 and wasn't sure how well he'd do in the spotlight here but he killed it, especially the emotional moments
Overall not a lot of complains, it was a fun watch. Not as many standout or emotional scenes as s1 but they made up for it by using their cast/characters really well
Also the music was really great. The song choices were fun too but the original score was awesome |

I definitely felt the first half struggle a bit, had to stop watching in like ep 5 as it felt like more of a chore to watch than anything. I came back the next day and picked up where I left off and felt the second half was way more entertaining. I will say the episode with 8 was probably my least favourite though. |

I was getting Jurassic Park vibes as well which I loved. Poor Bob :(
I hope Eleven improves next season too. I enjoyed this season but I didn't like that she was away from the cast for most of the season. Her reunion with Mike was cute af |

I watched last episode of Season 1 with my boy Friday night, cuz the wife wouldn't let him watch it without her. :)
We binged it up over the weekend, I loved it. I agree with most of what Curtis posted above, and the acting for me was exceptional. | |

Steve and Dustin teaming up was the fucking best. I actually was a bit nervous Steve might be a goner in the junkyard, but my boi put on the MOVES!
This Nancy/Jonathan thing is BOOLSHIT! I don't see the chemistry at all. But w/e, Steve deserves better anyways
I've liked Hopper a LOT more this season, def one of my fav characters now. And I've liked Eleven a lot less :( Why can't those two just get along!! Their fight on Halloween night made me so sad
Still wondering what the point of these Californians is, at first I thought they might relate to the season opener with the other 'mutants' but I don't think so anymore. Both p good characters so far tho, the brother is a gr8 villain
The cheese puff arcade guy and the guy that Nancy/Jonathan showed the tape to have been this season's side character MVPs 4sure |
