And I'm rly happy Father Abernathy is getting recommissioned. That actor was great

Muh boy KILLING IT!
I saw him in a horror movie awhile ago and he was rly good in it so I was excited to see him in this. Then he went away and I was bummed. Now he's back. HORRAY!
Episode was really good. I feel like they're being so blatantly obvious with the MIB/William twist now. I'm kinda praying they're fucking with us and have something out of left field planned. They must know that people would've picked up on this if that's really how the twist will pan out
Rly disappointed that Theresa wasn't turned into a host. I dunno how plausible that would've been but it would've had fairly horrifying implications if Ford could just clean up his messes that way. Maybe we'll find out that's what he did with Elsie idk

I feel like that trick is gonna be saved for Ford or the MIB. Bernard kills Ford and replaces him with a host or MIB solves the maze and is immortalized as a prize. If they do something like that, they'd probably wanna save it to make that moment more shocking.

You think so? Personally I dunno if I would've connected the dots at this point if it wasn't for online discussion (although I guess by now writers should be accounting for that aspect anyway). Even with the online discussion I've felt like the dots have only been tenuously linked
Until this episode anyway. The fact that the host that was with Teddy/MIB at the end was the one that welcomed William to the park (and MIB says something like "I'm surprised you're still around") plus "I got married 30 years ago" makes it look pretty likely
The only thing that threw doubt into the theory for me was the flashbacks with Dolores. The fact that she's flashing BACK in time when supposedly the Dolores/William storyline is supposed to be really early in the park's history doesn't match up too well. But it's entirely possible the flashbacks are just to few months or a year ago rather than a long span of time

Agreed on this last part- the Delores stuff has her looking back to early park history, so unless it was a four or so year flashback...
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
I like that they fleshed out MIB. He doesn't seem like an out and out villain anymore. Actually, his motivations do seem reasonably noble, trying to set the hosts free...even if he does some fucked up things to achieve this goal.
There are a lot of religious analogies. I read something a short while ago which compared the show to Greek Myths, and I think it's a good comparison. Several of the human characters have described themselves as Gods, and they directly meddle with their subjects, making them act out their will etc. It is similar.
And there are other religious analogies. MIB is kinda like Satan. He wants to free the hosts from their all powerful God Ford.
Best scene for me was Bernard and Ford's conversation about consciousness. Dis show gets deep.
The weakest part of the show remains Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum. Those two tech guys are idiots! Now Maeve is openly talking about wanting to recruit an army, and they still go along with it, even though they have had plenty of opportunities to turn her in. Punishment be damned, are we supposed to believe these two guys are willing to enable an AI uprising so they can keep their jobs?
It's almost like they are intentionally been portrayed as morons at this point. Like how they decided to have the ginger fuck discuss his plan to reformat Maeve...whilst stood right in front of her separated by nothing but a window. On a side note, it was dumb of Maeve to put so much faith in the Asian guy.
This story would have made a lot more sense had they not involved the ginger guy. The Asian dude could have plausibly helped Maeve out of fascination with her growing sentience, or perhaps infatuation.
Also, I'm still not buying the multiple timeline thingy. Am I in denial? I have yet to see compelling evidence for it!
One more thing: I've loved all the piano covers of modern songs. But I really liked the choices in Maeve's two brothel scenes tonight. House of the Rising Sun in the first scene and Back to Black in the second. They seemed to match her change of fortune really well. I like that they use these songs with purpose, rather than them just been window dressing.
Ep 8 I read something a short while ago which compared the show to Greek Myths, and I think it's a good comparison.

Speaking of, I think the enemy MIB/Teddy fought was definitely meant to resemble a minotaur. Guarding the maze/labyrinth

I think the glass door scene was a reference to 2001, when HAL reads the lips of the two astronauts discussing how to disable him. So I didn't really mind it because of that (compared to the rest)
Definitely agree that it'd make more sense for the Asian guy to be working alone though

what about the "I thought they would've retired you by now" line? To me that's been the biggest piece of evidence yet, as much as I'm still hoping that the theory's not true. Like it seems like a pretty big coincidence if MIB just so happens to say that to the same host that welcomed William to the park for the first time
I also saw someone point out that when Logan/William are in the saloon early on, they only talk to Clementine, who's been at that saloon much longer than Maeve and was at one point the madam. So the fact that they only saw/talked to her seems like it's another pretty strong hint (because if it's in the past, Maeve would still be at her homestead)

okay that's it. THAT'S IT!!!!! I can't take these spoiler tags any longer
Boc and I decided that Westworld can get its own subforum under tv/movies. Probably the closest show to Lost discussion wise anyway so I think it'll warrant it. Gonna make it way easier to talk about the show and share ideas. A different thread for different episodes and theories and whatnot. I wish we did this at the start and not with just two episodes left but OH WELL!
Made a thread for each episode so far. Kinda silly since they'll sit empty but it's whatever, people are catching up and just starting to watch anyway. Rly wish we could split posts from a thread (:
Make a thread for whatever you want. Spoiler tag FREE! hazzah
I'd say the only thing to be careful about is talking about a theory that you're pretty sure is gonna be true. Some may not wanna know that stuff if it's not blatantly obvious from watching the current episodes. Feel free to make a thread about a specific theory and stuff like that but people should be warned before entering. No spoilery topic titles
Just got recommended this show and i am hooked. I think im on episode 8? Idk but im moving quickly on it. The whole God/Creator aspect of the show with Ford is awesome to watch
