I just watched The Woman in Black again... (The Remake). It was good, pretty much just as good as the first time I watched it. Although some of the scares made it feel like they tried to force it down your throat. In other words, trying to make you be scared due to a jump scare, but actually only laughing because it didn't work. And also I also noticed that more then half of the movie is Daniel(le) Radcliffe walking through that house with the same expression on his face, lol.
But the entire plot by itself and the end product was pretty good! And a VERY satisfying ending!
Who else is excited for The Woman in Black: The Angel of Death?
I liked The Woman In Black but not as a horror movie. It's jump scares do feel a bit forced. The only part that got me was when the woman screams out of nowhere and that was because I saw it in theaters and it was loud as fuck.
everyone's local kpop trash. i'm only back for that reason. i'm usually found on discord <3
Just saw that they're finally releasing a big blu ray set of all of the Halloween movies. I didn't think the rights would ever get worked out to make that happen. Pretty neat.
Though, of those, I think I can only defend the first two as "good" movies. H20 I like for the 90s feel and bringing JLC back. 4 was okay but everything else stunk. I don't get Halloween III apologists at all.
Quick side-note about H20, and this is something that always bothers me, though I may have mentioned it before. In H20, they're watching Scream 2, so in the Halloween universe, Scream is a movie series. In Scream 1, they're watching Halloween, so in the Scream universe, Halloween is a movie series. So what happens in the Halloween universe when they're watching Scream 1 and end up watching the parts where they're watching Halloween? How does that work? I know I'm thinking too much about this but it boggles my mind.
I watched Halloween 3 last Halloween during AMC's Fear Fest and... I didn't hate it but it was not very good. Not sure if I'd ever really given it a full watch prior to that. I know I'd seen parts because I remembered the lucky shamrock song or whatever.
The only Halloween film I disliked is Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (I think it's the sixth film).
I've never seen the Halloween films directed by Rob Zombie. I don't think I will ever watch them unless I am in a mood in which I want to inflict pain upon myself tbh.
So, where do I begin with this rather disturbing movie? I watched the original one, from 1978, and that one was pretty disturbing. The remake... the ofcourse amped stuff up. But this one, was even more extreme. So, it's about a girl wanting to start a modelling career, she innocently accepts an offer by some kind of 'agency'. She accepts it, and after her photoshoot, she gets harrased by the 3 guys who shot the photoshoot. And one of the guys rapes her in her appartment... and I'm not talking that 'movie' 'half cut' type rape, this shit was in you're face type rape. The girl's friend who she had a cute crush on, heard everything that was happening from next door. He tried to save her, but one of the photoshoot guys, stabbed him like... Probablt 10 or more times. Like seriously, it was just non-stop. That friend stepped into the apartment room, and BAM, 10 times rapidly after eachother, all stabs in his stomach. That friend falls to the ground and watches while they rape the girl. The friend dies there. And the 3 rapists kidnap her 'somewhere' I won't spoil where. But while there, they rape her some more, with that same type of in your face type rape. And then after she has been passed out. She asks if she can have something to drink (while crying), and one of the rapists goes and pisses on her... And then she starts screaming, and then they force her to swallow some type of drug (it looked like Cocaine, but I have absolutely no idea what drug types there are, so I'll just call it Cocaine, even though they force her to swallow it instead of sniff it, but maybe swallowing works to?) But back to the story, the force her to swallow that, so they can rape her some more. They also pinch her nipples as hard as they can while she's handcuffed to a pole. And they also electrify her with something. I think it's a tazer but then in a stick form? But they electrify her like... everywhere on her body. It began with her legs and arms... and then ir progressed to her mouth... and then her vagina! Like WTH?!?! And after a clever escape, she... well, you'll see it when you watch it. But later on, once she takes revenge on the guys who raped her she does EXTREME shit to them. Like, if you thought the penis cutting in the 1978/2010 version was bad. See what they have with this movie!
Haha, this movie is just so gruesome, and I'll proudly say that I'm a gore-hound. I love gore movies (alongside alot of other genres) but even this one made me a little uneasy. If you have a weak stomach, don't watch this. There's also a part where she forces herself to puke, they don't cut anything out from that part either, lol.
It does truly show the dangers that lurks in the dangerous modelling world, and can open up eyes to make sure to have legit info before giving you're trust out to someone. Even though, I liked this movie (gosh, that sounds so sick 'like') I still liked the 2010 one more. Mainly because the 2010 one was in the woods, and it involved a writer getting stalked by a bunch of rednecks (and then raped). It gave you a more isolated and helpless feeling then this one, since this one was in the middle of the city. But yeah, if you enjoy the TorturePorn genre like Saw, Hostel and The Human Centipede... give this one a try, if you don't like those movies... stay far away from this film, lol.
