Also the scene with the DEA boss talking about how Gus was right under his nose and Hank's mind is racing was pretty great. THOUGH I wonder how many more scenes they'll have like that until Hank ACTUALLY puts it together! It's gotta be soon. I think during this half-season he'll figure Walt out |
true dat skinny b. btw how many seasons will there be? do we know for sure? There will be a 6th season right? I think hank is gonna get it by the end of this season. |
Technically there's just one season left but AMC is a greedy bitch and is airing half the episodes this summer and the other half next summer. There's 6 episodes left for this half-season, and 14 total left

I enjoyed the episode. Though my DVR fucked up the audio when it recorded it so i had to watch it online again.
Mike shoulda popped a cap in that bitch. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Holy shit, Walt is creepy. I really loved how his scenes with Skylar and Jesse were shot, with Walt sort of LOOMING in the background as he comforts them. Of course, Jesse was totally right. Seeing the hold Walt has on him is really depressing. I can't really find anything sympathetic about him anymore, it's QUITE IMPRESSIVE.
And Mike, woah. I wouldn't call his dealing with the Madrigal woman a half-measure. He was too sympathetic regarding the daughter, and it will most assuredly come back to bite him in the ass, but I'm not sure if there was another solution really. He was going to be fucked either way, and at least this way he can keep Walt under his supervision.
Also I really loved the scene in Chao's house. It was really gripping and suspenseful, even though there was no way Mike was going to die.
And I agree with Paul, the opening definitely had shades of the Los Pollos chicken opening. It was a really good self-contained DARKLY COMEDIC scene.

Pretty good interview...

This in particular interested me.

Not counting the opening scene in “Live Free or Die,” the amount that has passed since the pilot is around 11 months. “He’s had a busy year,” said Gilligan. |

There's an episode coming up called "Fifty One". I think it's safe to assume that's referring to Walt's 51st birthday, which means that'll be exactly one year from the Pilot. So the flashforward is an entire year PAST this season since that's his 52nd birthday.
Really makes me wonder if that's something they'll get back to during this half-season or if that's the beginning of the series finale. Time will have to start moving a LOT quicker either way
Orrr... it could all be a mislead. I mean, Walt has a fake identity and all so he could easily be faking that it's his 52nd birthday. Maybe they WANT us to think it'll be a year in the future when it's really only a couple months |

Scarface. Bit on the nose, don't you think? (:
Other than that, it was a really great episode. The pest control thing was just so perfect and fitting (I WONDER IF WALT HAS TO DEAL WITH ANOTHER FLY) and I love the NEW DYNAMIC in play with Mike even though the ending hints heavily that it's not going to last long.
Saul actually doing shit was great, the meth lab shopping made me lol, especially EXTREME LASER TAG. And so was getting another meth montage, IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG. Speaking of, did any of you see the teddy bear during it? There was a bit where it showed chemicals, and it looked like it changed into the bear.
Walt was such an asshole this episode. HIS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT WILL NEVER CEASE TO ASTOUND ME. The scene with him at Andrea's was horrifying. As was his talk with Jesse, where he said shit about secrets breaking bonds. And then Marie, it was all just too damn much. It was almost painful to watch at some points, there is nothing to redeem him.
Skyler's freakout and absolute inability to cope is actually really sad. There is no way she can defend herself anymore, she is fucking broken. Also, I really liked how the Scarface scene was edited, it reminded me a lot of the light gun scene with Jesse back in season 4.
How are they able to keep the quality of the show this high? (:

Good episode till the very end. I didn't get to say goodbye to Brock :(. He liked playing video games with Jesse now no more.
Other than that Mike wins the epic line of the week with. Im not going to try to quote it because i'll prolly butcher it but it was the one about Jesse James.
