I am an engineer at a Natural gas utility. It's mostly a desk job but I get to go out to the field pretty regularly. |

Professional Engineers Licensing Exam.
You have to pass the EIT (Engineer in Training) Exam first which most everyone thats an engineer takes before they leave college. Then you are supposed to work with a Licensed PE for like 4-5 years before you can apply to take the exam. The exam is long and drawn out and a bitch from what I've always heard. |
I'm currently studying for the PG (Professional Geologist) license exam too. Probably going to take it in the Fall, even though I don't do anything that would require it. The department I work for is offering to pay for the test, so might as well get the fancy stamp, if I can. |

I do that Schraub does, but for a Structural Steel firm. My degree is in education. It just takes some math proficiency and a willingness to take a lot of ass eatings.
