So I just tried the multiplayer and whoooaa it's actually fun. It was actually just me by myself vs a clan but I managed to get more kills than deaths despite losing. The maps are a good size. | A survivor becomes a leader...

Played through disc 1 of LA Noire today. NOT BAD!
The facial animations are all really really good. All of the acting's seemed really authentic, especially for a video game. And it was fun recognizing a couple familiar faces. lol'd @ the Cosgrove-Kinsey reunion. And Arzt as the pervert
I absolutely suck at reading people. The worst part is the right option is always so obvious after I've already picked the wrong one. I always end up laying in way too hard for innocent witnesses and feeling like shit afterwards, and then being too trusting of the people that are actually withholding shit
Interested to see where they're going with the flashbacks and the newspaper stories. I assume both of those will tie into an overarching plot? I hope so, because otherwise this game seems a bit too episodic

Tried to play TS3 to push sleeping schedule a bit forward since falling asleep during the evening is shit. Fell sleep playing. Managed to wander into some half sleeping/ sleep gaming state. Until i accidentally hit the laptop's power button i was doing better than normal... | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Personally, I think the game gets criticized way too much. I think it's perfect for what it is. Too many people expected it to more of an open world game and were turned off by that.

@ Boc. Keep playing! It's really awesome storywise from start to finish, and it gets better with every "chapter" in my opinion. What department are you working in right now?
The flashback episodes contain a metaphoric scene, in my opinion a nod towards the "Team Bondi R* takeover" situation, which in the end, was the sole reason this game came to life and hit the market.
@Patrick; and that's why people expected a GTA back in the days, simply because it's an open world game and R* were producing it, even though they took over and managed things after Team Bondi had laid out the foundation and all. For publicity reasons too I guess. I totally agree that the game was getting harsh reviews for no reason really. Philistines....fuck 'em! A detectives crime noir story in an open world, with really satisfying interrogation and investigating aspects and with passable shooting mechanics (thanks to R* I guess) - man this game is the bomb really. One of my favorits for sure!
The facial animation is superb, but REALLY expensive. Imagining a GTA or Red Dead title with that technique, gat-damn, it would be mind-blowing | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Just solved my first case as a homicide detective. The naked girl with the lipstick
SOMETHING DOESN'T ADD UP! I found the killer supposedly but why would he have the murder weapon and lipstick in his apartment. I wonder if that'll come up again later

A new free DLC has been released for State of Decay called Lifeline, which is apparently an entirely new story and map. Downloading now, very excited! |

Was State of Decay any good? I forget what you thought about it. It sounded like the type of zombie game that I've been waiting for but I played around for about twenty minutes and I'm not sure that it was. Much like that Steam game we found

I really, really enjoyed it. It has RPG elements in which you can play as any Survivor in your group and build their stats up. Also when people die, they die for good which is kind of cool. It's main focus is on building up a camp, fortifying it, maintaining morale within the group and scavenging for supplies. Supplies don't respawn so you're forced to go further and further into the map and discover new stuff.
There is a few problems with it in that completing the (very short) story will just end the game, which is dumb! Although I guess you could just take your time and avoid the story altogether if you wanted. Also once resources are completely run out, they're gone for good. So if you explore the entire map and explore every single house, you can never get any supplies ever again.
They solved this was a DLC that will allow you to move to a new randomly generated town once your resources are depleted and in turn make the zombies more aggressive and tough with each new map. Problem is that this DLC has no story to speak of and is just literally sandbox.
In other news, this new DLC isn't out until the 30th and is gonna be 7 bucks... but I just downloaded it for free, even though it isn't showing up on my games list. Weird! |
