Cleganebowl actually lived up to the hype, that was perfectly done honestly
ehhh! There was not a single interesting thing about their fight outside of him pulling his eye gouge move again. And it ended exactly how everyone could’ve predicted years ago
Hound vs Brienne was the same fight but better and more brutal in every possible way
Hound vs Brienne was definitely a better choreographed fight ya. But idk, this still felt pretty raw/appropriate, I don't think it needed to be anything more elaborate than what it already was. I thought the ending to it especially was perfect, pushing him into the fire just like Gregor did to him as a kid
It was like the one storyline wrap-up this season that I really have no qualms with
true dat! this was the only scene that sparked emotions in me...I was both sad and happy, the hound was my favorit character - seeing him go out like that, felt like he was the only one who got the death he deserved, the death he wanted, the death that makes "sense"
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
My coworker brought up a great point with the observation that once Dany goes full crazy, we never see her POV for the rest of the episode, which I think adds much more insult to the way they handled this flip. Shouldn't we get to see Dany's face while she's burning innocent people? Isn't it important to at least get some sort of idea of what's going through her head or how she is handling everything?
Part of what made the story so interesting is the fact that every decision that every character makes is motivated. We can hate Cersei all we want, but we understand why she's doing what she's doing. She has motivation. With Dany, it's like they completely gave up on trying to humanize her or make her descent into madness somehow relatable. The moment she turned "evil" she became a force of nature, rather than a character.
Excluding Euron just showing up out of nowhere, that episode had everything for me, for a penultimate episode. Dany going crazy was expected, epsecially with her world collapsing around her. Greyworm leading the attack against the unarmed soldiers made sense. I loved that after Dany decided to burn the town, they never went back to her. It was much more impactful to show the people at the other end of the dragon's fire, than the one sending it. I also loved seeing Aaron Rodgers die in a rain of fire (although my fantasy team may have something to say about that).
My wholly uneducated (haven't read any of the books) prediction for next week: Jon and Dany argue over her attack, Dany decides to kill Jon, but Arya intercedes and kills Dany instead. Drogon still burns Jon to a crisp, but we see the show fade to black with Arya climbing the ruins of King's Landing to sit in the Iron Throne.
Yea I read that to and thought that would have been better! Though people still probably would have complained about Euron randomly showing up and sniping the dragon.
"So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Well, if Euron is just going to show up in the right place at the right time, I think it'd be better used to snipe a dragon than to catch Jamie Lannister on the beach.
I don't know if this was covered, but my favourite part of the episode was the Dothraki swords cutting through heavy armor like it's nothing. After being shown not once, but twice that their swords can't do shit to a knight in armor, ex Jorah in that fighting pit thing. I get that it's a nit pick, but there's been like 9001 other things like this over only the last 5 episodes lol. Am I a dick for wanting consistency?

Jorah's armor did fuck all against rusty daggers in Episode 3...
