How'd you hurt your back?

I have had back issues for basically 17 years. It started with an infection in my spine but I also have degenerative disks and one that is pressing on a nerve which causes terrible sciatica. Every couple of years I have a procedure where they burn the nerve endings which usually gives me relief except the one i had last year didn't work. I just had it again but my pain medicine said if this doesn't work he can't help me anymore. I went to a spinal surgeon and he doesn't think I am a candidate for surgery. It sucks cause now I can't run which helped me lose my weight and I am slowly gaining it all back
