lol wait what the fuck

I both cannot and definitely can believe that people are actually mad at that

People should be mad at real world problems. Like Alderaan being blown to bits, or an entire system being wiped out by the First Order....oh yeah that's also fictional too!

I just caught up on the episodes. I must say.....this season has been very disappointing. Every episode has basically been the same. Mando needs something which the person says they will help them but Mando needs to do them a favor first. It has literally been that every episode.

Hopefully Ashoka can save this season.

idk if I'd say it's been that much different from S1 but yeah, hoping next ep will be the turning point to this season actually getting some narrative momentum, since it looks like Gideon vs Ahsoka (and Mando) will probably be a thing shortly. I imagine that's not gonna just get neatly wrapped up in one ep. But wouldn't be surprised either way!

at least Baby Yoda has still been great

I agree with Perry that this season feels a little weaker. I really like E1 and E2 though. E3 and E4 pretty boring!

I’m all for episodic shows but I don’t think this has been terribly well done. If it fully committed to that idea then it could be great but it’s been awkwardly halfway between episodic and serialized

HANNIBAL handled that perfectly but this has been so uninteresting

I actually did watch a bit of Bonanza reruns growing up fwiw

I don't think its similarity to old westerns really goes in its favor though? TV has evolved and improved a ton since then, and while there's nothing wrong with going retro and paying homage (movies certainly have been doing it since forever) it doesn't really work unless you bring something fresh/interesting to the table imo

Just look at the original Star Wars, it was mainly inspired by the cheesy Flash Gordon serials that Lucas grew up watching, but he took that and did something interesting with it rather than just aiming to emulate that thing and leaving it at that
