Paul, did the bus ability not go through cause I was "dead" in the final showdown before the phase that I used it in?

Sooo are those all storylines that will factor into Lab 3? I'm a little confused. Like how is Niney still alive again? Is it a different Niney, since he just lost his 10th finger?

They went back into purgatory (the people who survived the final showdown). So that whole sequence was part of it. Niney is in his own domain in there. It's heavily implied that the characters in this kind of got roped into Roth's test which had nothing to do with their own trials so those characters are off doing their own thing now.
They're all dead (Niney included), he's just experiencing his past without any memory of the fact he died. Something all of the characters would have done if Roth didn't jump in and interfere. Kristoff masked his own memory of dying which is why it came as such a shock to learn it had happened.
The one exception is that Kristoff was allowed to work alongside Roth as a special request, so he was dragged out of his eventual fate.

And not all of it will factor into Labyrinth 3. I'm fairly selective but I like to leave things open in case I want to use them again. Chances are the survivor stuff might not. Henry/Helios might. I haven't decided yet. It's quite nice leaving things open so that I can re-use them.
What I will say is that the stuff with Roth and Willis will definitely be a factor. The most plot intensive parts are the epilogue of Lab 2 and those sections of the epilogue for this game. The rest isn't really "important" but I thought it was nice to give the survivors a little more than just a gentle flick into oblivion.

One thing I don't like to do is introduce something very late in the narrative that is going to be of vital importance. I did that with the sword in Lab 2 and it kind of came out of left field at the end. Though Project Harrow was teased throughout, that facet seemed a bit pulled out of the air. I knew exactly where the plot to this was going (Lab 2.5 and 3 are very densely plotted) but I still kind of dropped the ball with Pandora's box. The only mention of it prior to about Phase 11 I think was an appearance on the stained glass window in Roth's church and the jigsaw puzzle. So again, I kind of made it come out of nowhere which wasn't my intention.
Still, rather have the slow build of it being in lab 2.5 than just toss it in as a plot point in Lab 3 without any build up whatsoever. That was really what I wanted to go for with this. I kind of thought certain elements in Lab 3 would be jarring without a slower introduction. By all means this plot isn't necessary, it's just nice to have.

Sooooo me getting the sword of Theseus in Lab1 wasnt such a great idea I take it? Willis is going to use it to fuck shit up it seems
Like Willis/Curtis could never get it for themselves, he needed someone PURE to do it for him right?

IIRC in Lab 2 Willis said that was just a replica, and the real sword was much harder to get to

Niney!!! <3
(Ok, that's all I will say about it, not like you didn't see that reaction coming a mile away :P ) | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

You know Helios is scum when he summarizes everything and then adds to the discussion by picking out one random sentence someone says and writes an italicized diatribe about how it's curious and he really, REALLY wants to know more about it.
"What did you mean by this, though? You are eating a biscuit? A BISCUIT???? Seems a little farfetched to me. Really gonna need to hear more about this biscuit situation." | Yes
With some form of over the top, “Wait, what the actual fuck?!” thrown in
| A biscuit? Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?
Say it with me... inactive biscuit is still biscuit. And my key to victory. |

Yeah, this.
Lab 1 didn't have an intricately planned story arc so I had to retcon a lot of it. The sword of Theseus in that game was just a replica, similar to the minotaur (which was mechanical and obviously not the real thing).
So Henry killed a fake minotaur with a fake sword for the sake of appearances. The real sword was secreted away at the end of Lab 2 where Dr. Patterson went and obtained it.

And Willis couldn't get it himself. He had to create a specialist force to do it which was the nature of his experiments and "project harrow" in Lab 2. The idea was to use one of five candidates and have them take on the memories and abilities of the deceased prisoners but in the end he used Patterson (the sixth candidate who absorbed those elements in reverse).
