you need to fix the fucking Cbox for Phones and mobile devices when im on my Iphone on the site, the Cbox fucks everything up. it wont let me scroll down or up the page. it will constantly force me back to the same spot in the middle of the page. and its the cbox's fault. i have trouble posting because of this too

I don't run the cbox. I don't code the cbox. It's got absolutely nothing to do with my site.

So no, I don't need to fix it because I'm not capable of fixing something I didn't create.

I've removed the cbox temporarily. Can all users with iphones/ipads confirm if this fixes the scrolling problem or not? If it really is a cbox issue I may have to look for an alternative service.

As soon as I get an idea of the cause I'll either put it back or replace it. I can't imagine how henry will cope with these events to say the least.

If the cbox is causing these issues then it means there are two distinct and very annoying site-wide problems that both stem from the cbox. In which case it's more trouble than it's worth tbh.

It's a bit of a dinosaur to be honest. I've used the cbox service since 2004 and it's barely changed at all.

I want to eventually. My main issue is with the auto-refresh which will be pretty painful with regards to bandwidth usage. It'll take a fair bit of research and planning before I can create a reliable, auto-reloading version.

I might have to charge for the feature like cbox currently does just to support the overhead that it might result in. Not sure yet. Either way this site will be the first place it appears if/when it does.

Out of curiosity how much bandwitdh would an auto-reloading cbox approximately use up?

I can check tonight, but not right now.

I wasnt sure if the cbox caused it tbh, I just assumed it did as it constantly scrolled me down to it about 3/4ths of the time.

I have no idea Jeff. It's dependent on a number of factors. It won't use up any bandwidth if nobody ever uses the feature. But if lots do, it'll use a lot.

The only way to get an accurate measure is to actually measure it once installed. In order to be cost effective there's a limit on exactly how much bandwidth per user I can afford to flitter away. These quantities are unknowns until the software really goes live.
