I always kill animals like that, otherwise I wouldn't get 3 stars pelts when I skin them, right?! don't tell me I can just shoot them without any hustle and still get a perfect pelt.

It depends on the animal, if you study it and press R1 you can see what's best to kill it with for 3 star, cougars are rifles.
Also you need to headshot them or the grade gets lower.... I finally found one 3 star and missed the head. Fucking RIP my time.

Same :( I probably won't be able to get it until next month at the earliest.

Most of you have it for PS4, I was torn between that or Xbox but PS4 it is, will likely wait until November/December

headshots I give them by default but daaaamn I didn't know you could study them!? My brother did the hunting tutorial and I didn't head out with charles myself ever since. will have to try that, I guess it's plain to see/use...but I never did.

that hunting game eh? yesterday I killed the legendary elk but it said I cannot harvest all parts because not enough space in satchel etc. so I reload that savegame because I want all the shit I can get from that legendary animal. now I'm getting rid of almost all the meat because that's what's stacked in the satchel. but I didn't know it was the THYME BIG GAME steaks, the BEST meat I had on me, which took up all the space. so like a Henry before I went to kill the elk again, I dropped all the meat except for that, and I got the same message, again ;D

so yeah, RIP time (which I should use to sleep) indeed

I'm pretty sure if you drop stuff, you can just walk over to the carcass and harvest the rest of the meat that you can't fit (: It's not lost forever if you don't have room.

I haven't done a ton of the legendary hunting. I think the only ones I got are the bear with Hosea and the Coyote near Rhodes. And I got a legendary Perch from fishing.

Also god damn at that hunting map, I had no idea New Austin was even in this game. I never traveled past West Elizabeth as I figured the game wouldn't let me. This map is fucking huge.

You can make trinkets with legendary parts at the fences, one of them is great, makes 2 star animals give 3 star pelts, I think it's the elk.not 100% sure.

no I think the elk trinket nets you a higher loot, 10 %
the wolf trinket btw lets you consume more alcohol before the side effects kick in (I just got that two days ago)

with the satchel and the meat I am just plain confused...cause the elk is vension...mature vension...and I had none of that stored and even though I dropped most of the big game meat it still said I can't get all the parts...

with all that saving and loading I suddenly got a text after killing the elk for the 6th time or so, that the corpse has been left behind or something, but I could go see the trapper to re-accquire the parts and so on....oh men!

I only want that trinket tbh and I just need the antlers for that...also I just wanna stop killing that elk!!!!

I could not, or I haven't tried it like that. I simply dropped the meat, but after all that might not be the issue, maybe it is really the satchel....but it might have been the meat, since it wouldn't give me any option with the corpse again.

I will try it ONE LAST TIME, without ANY meat in my satchel though just to be clear!
then I'm back to robbing trains, and fishing

storywise: I just went fishing with jack and met and old "friend". that was nicely done, from a writing perspective. taking the kid on this trip, the dialogue, was impressed!

also, that one mission where you went to see the brother of an old lady friend, who was about to devote his life and wallet to some religion. the music on the ride home was just soooooo fitting!
I need that all the time in free roam!

Oh it's the Legendary Buck, I was in its area(NW of Strawberry) when looking for Cougars, but didn't see him.

I went on a fishing side mission and there was this big fish among the other fish that I really wanted to get, but the other fish kept biting, so I just shot it with my pistol.

ok then next in my collection, buck trinket it is!

my ELK trinket is bugged. I have it in the inventory, but in my progress section it was not found yet, both the wolf and buck trinket are there and highlighted, not the elk trinket though.

others have similar issues with the trinkets not showing up/legendary animals skinning drama...PATCH PLEASE R*!!!

I got to play this for 5 mins the other day at my sisters. I lassoed an innocent farmer and dragged him around with a horse for a while. Fun times.

And that's probably all I'll get to play of it! Unless it comes out on PC at some point...

it will be on PC in a year or so...MAYBE!
