I redid the final fight just to get one more gold.
I'm not good at letting go.

I know that getting all 37 is POSSIBLE with some manipulations of the mechanics, but I'm just not very good and don't have the patience.

I actually did this. It was absolutely fucking insane. You need a lot of Jet to get it done. And I locked Elijah in the vault rather than fighting him. It took me forever.
iirc this was the last DLC I completed and I still have the container filled with gold since I got lazy transporting it around to trade. |

I was always VERY CLOSE to getting past the force fields, but then Elijah would suddenly realize something was wrong right as he got to the vault door and the force-field would trigger. That field never clears after he dies so you have to go the long way and theres no time to do that once Elijah's dead. Also the long way is blocked until Elijah dies so you can't just sneak that way.
I finally decided 6 was enough. I can't even find a vendor to unload one gold bar on so it's probably not even worth it (:
