I enjoyed this one a lot. Great to see Mike some more. Whole episode basically revolved around him, and he's one of my favorites, so I enjoyed it. I was NERVOUS for him the entire time, which is great. The show does an awesome job at making you think most could die at any moment

Seeing Hank and Mike together for the first time was kul too. That scene, the Chow scene, and the one in the girls house were my favorites

OH, and when Jesse finds the cigarette and cries. Favorite scene of the episode. The acting was great. Jesse breaking down for almost killing Walt while Walt knows that he completely duped him. Great stuff

Damn, that last scene was so creepy. Skyler wanted to tell him to stop but is too terrified to talk back against him anymore. PRETTY CHILLING

Pretty good episode overall, although I liked last week's a little better. The new character seems pretty interesting so far. And yeah, the Hank/Mike scene as well as Jesse finding the cigarette were the best parts. Also the scene with the DEA boss talking about how Gus was right under his nose and Hank's mind is racing was pretty great. THOUGH I wonder how many more scenes they'll have like that until Hank ACTUALLY puts it together! It's gotta be soon. I think during this half-season he'll figure Walt out

Also I have a feeling leaving that chick alive will come back to bite Mike in the ass. He used a half measure!

I really liked the opening scene even though it seemingly had no major importance to anything. There was something really sinister and captivating about it.

It's one of those scenes like the loading the trucks for Pollos that is powerful and stand-alone. This show is great at doing that.

Triple post. I also really like that Madrigal came back into the picture at all. It'd be so easy just to sweep stuff like that under the rug with a new season and focus entirely on the collapse of Gus' empire and the handful of contacts in the immediate vicinity but they always like to take it full force and cover every last loose end. Very impressive and tight writing.

TIGHT, TIGHT TIGHT!

QUADRUPLE POST.

I just really love their ability to build up this sense of a "complete universe". It might not be vastly interesting or deeply captivating for now but it's incredible in its scope.

Loved the episode.

Last week's was a bit of an anti-climax for me because it really just covered all the loose ends of the season 4 finale. It was still good but this one seemed like a proper start to season 5, introducing new plot points and characters.

Stand out scenes:

- Jesse crying
- Mike's interrogation
- Chow scene
- Mike and new girl

Pretty much every Mike scene!

I also particularly loved that final sequence. That seemingly insignificant scene of Walt washing the dishes in the dark with the grim music building in the background all added to the atmosphere.

The way they use little details like that intensifies the scene so much. It was almost unbearable watching Skylar at the end.

lol Scene:
Hank: Well here's the thing Mike, or Michael?!
Mike: Mr. Hermann Trout
Hank: Here's the thing Mike...

And lol - Mike his grandchild and the boardgame. When he pushes on the hippos screaming "yaah-ah-a-ha-ah" I lost it. That was hilarious...I almost choked on my meal when I saw that.

Bad-ass scene:
Mike:"Are you ready?"
Chris:"Listen mike..."
*PEW PEW PEW*

Genius killing scene. You didn't see it going down like that, even though you fully expected it. Reminded me a lot of a certain death-scene in "no country for old men". There's a victim at gunpoint and you know the guy is gonna pull the trigger, but you're still surprised when and how it happens. Fresh!

Interesting scene:
When the Captain, Gomez and Hank have a drink and Cap tells a little story about how Gus was around at his barbecues etc. and finishes with "and he was somebody else completely. Right in front of me... right under my nose". Hank's expression when he says that is telling. He stares down on the floor drifting away for a second or two. He senses that he might have his own case of "right in front of me, right under my nose" - but he doesn't know it yet. He never gave it any thought. he just jokingly spilled it out when face to face with walt (right in front of him) "....to W.W....Willy Wonker? Walter White?"

The Cap's words had some impact on hank there at the end. Hank doesn't know what to think of it really I guess. Looked like a weird sense of "that could happen to everyone. Did it...happen to me?...nuh...nuh."

Shocking Scene:
The ending...wow. Had some "sleeping with the enemy"-ish vibe to it. You could tell that Skyler was, well, uncomfortable. (:

Yeah I loved that opening sequence as is the case of this one as well. The MIke Centric episode was badass and we didn't have to endure any Marie, Skylar or Ted stuff that I don't really care about. I do think Mike should have just killed the girl cause in the end she will probably be his downfall. I knew he'd join the crew again so I'm excited to see how he, Walt and Jesse work together. Jesse crying was a pretty powerful scene and Walt pretending to comfort him made it feel even darker. Even Walt's final scene with Skylar shows that he's pretty much completely Heisenberg now and is taking matters into his own hands. Loved the Hank-Mike stuff. I'd say this was better than the first episode probably due to the emphasis on Mike.

btw the guy in the opening sequence, explaining the dip sauces to the boss man, didn't sound german at all. more like an accent from switzerland or austria. the other "krauts" were okay, but sounded mechanical.

edit: okay maybe the glasses guy just was swiss and thats it. (:
