Getting her to potty is literally impossible. We were hours behind schedule today because we were literally stopping so many times to try and get her to potty.
I went from Phoenix, Arizona and did not go all the way to Sedona, but instead took the scenic route through beautiful Tonto National Forest and I pooped in a public restroom in the Petrified Forest. I’ll let all you amateur paleontologists out there make your own petrifying jokes. ;)
I met the most beautiful woman I have seen in my life on the side of the road on America’s most famous highway, the all glorious Route 66. Route 66 is actually just a part of I-40 these days, and at the easternmost end I-40 just dumps you on the campus of UNC Wilmington, where I earned my bachelors degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. BUT THIS GIRL was a Navajo Indian (or at least claimed to be. I didn’t ask for her kennkarte) and she smelled just like beads, beans and gasoline. Her family’s Mercedes Sprinter Van had broken down and she was collecting change to be able to afford the mechanic. I gave her everything in my wallet hoping for some good karma. I took off without getting her name or number…….but she did tell me to follow her on Instagram @pRtYlilNAVho47. Truly a New Mexican if I ever. Also, I think she stole my Wilco CDs.
New Mexico was a great drive. Many mountains, deserts, lightning storms, narrow highways. So punk rock. Also, what is up with New Mexico and Amber Alerts? I received 2 separate amber alerts in a 4 hour period. I stopped and pooped again at the San José de Laguna Mission Church. I ofc got in a quick prayer to St. Joseph for an ISOPTOPES win tonight baby!!! There is a very special style of architecture in New Mexico, I think it is called Adobe? Like the photo snap program…truly people of the Earth. I did not go see the Breaking Bad house but I did see a lot of suburban methheads.
After a long day I finally checked into the world famous Albuquerque Holiday Inn and smashed my face into a nice big bowl of sauerkraut!!! Hahha thanks Mom. Walking around beautiful Old Town ABQ at night all I can think was one thing- Why Is EveryThing So Spanish Here?
OH WELL. MAYBE McVeigh will know the answer. Day 3 is going to be the longest and likely most boring drive of this entire excursion! Can’t wait! -v out ya dweebs
