I like option 3 as well. I suggest the moderator pair up a few members for main plot progression but people also have the option for their own subplots for creativity.

Yeah I think there's gonna be some people who will try to drive the main plot in different directions, and other people who might not wanna touch that and would rather just have their character go with it. Taking on either role at any points is fine

It'll be challenging to shape the overall plot and tone and everything as we go along, but that'll be the fun part. As long as people build off of each other and keep the continuity the best that they can, it should work out pretty smoothly and be funny. People shouldn't worry tooo much about writing something that doesn't exactly fit though, and people shouldn't worry about taking risks and moving the plot in different directions. As long as someone's not doing something way too wild or ridiculous with it haha, or blatantly ignoring everything that's going on

Unless there's an active enough FE'er who isn't writing and wants to take this on and be the moderator, then I'll be the moderator

What I'll probably do is this. I'll post the plot intro to set things up from an unrelated character account, like the FERRYMAN who brings everyone to the island or something. Then my main character can jump into the plot with everyone else, so that way people won't know who I am either.

I'll still have to be sent the votes for who dies each round though, which means I'll know who dies a bit ahead of time. That's not a big deal to me, though it'd be fun to be surprised. Same with choosing a killer, I'll have to do that as well and I'll have to know who it is all along

I would prefer a longer stretch between segments.

I'm a glacial writer so I'd also like as much time as possible to post haha.

Alright maybe we can have Wednesday nights be the night that someone dies. Maybe early on, there can be more than one death per round every so often? So we all vote for two people. That'd be kinda fun. Otherwise it'll last quite awhile with one death per week

Option 3 is the best and keeps activity on the forum. I like the idea of one death per week instead of two depending on the official count of people. If more join then yeah make it 2.

These are the tentative sign ups so far. Pretty sure Sam wants in as well. So if we do one 'Chapter' and death a week, it would last about four months (:

Need a solution for that

Along with the voting, for the first couple of weeks, you could have a panel of judges to judge based on creativity/grammar/risk taking/etcetera? and the person with the lowest score is also killed off?

OR the moderator could have a list of how many people die per chapter, like, the moderator could choose before the game how many people will die in each chapter. Like, two people will die chapter one, one person will die chapter two, three people will die in chapter three, etc. On chapter three, the three people with the lowest amount of votes will be killed off. Does that make any sense? haha.

Highest* amount of votes?

And yeah that's what I was thinking! Like there are variations, so maybe it'll go one or two for awhile, then all of a sudden a three death episode will shock people

I'd say we should wait to see how many people actually submit a character before we plot out how many deaths per week we should have. Quite a number of people could have dropped off the face of the earth in the time between signups and now.

I'd also suggest that if we're going to do multiple deaths, we should send in ranked lists of the other characters, and axe the three characters who have the lowest (highest?) point totals get eliminated, as opposed to only being allowed to vote for one person. The one-vote system opens itself to shenanigans and weird vote ploys, and that seems like it would kind of work against the whole "focus on writing well" sort of feel that it seems like we're going for...

Yeah highest idk what I was thinking :X

And the multiple deaths would be especially fun if we did a ranked list like Rob suggests and never knew how many people were going to die in each chapter.
