Despite what I just said, I still don't think this "check on our democracy" is worth all the damage it's going to cause domestically and on the world stage.

Everything will be fine. And honestly if it ends up leading to significant changes in the way we hold our representatives accountable /elect our President then it will be worth it for everything short of full on nuclear WW3.

Look no further than the liberals who defended Obama continuing Dubya's domestic spy programs, all because they were used to going against whatever complaint conservatives popped out.

We *need* an extreme reaction to fix things, and Trump is delivering the ability to take this extreme reaction.

Unfortunately, I think the 2 party system will keep the focus on "us vs. them" instead of "how can we all make sure this doesn't happen again"

I'm glad the repeal and replace failed. I'm equally glad that the pubbies are hamstringing the hybrid POS to make sure it dies. The climate will be ripe to go all in instead of half assing it for profit like the obama dems did.
