Not very? I guess. There was a lot of talk of how the show taught positive things and how they all bonded over it. It just seemed a little weird to me. The fandom from my perspecitive has always been dripping with irony. Like a bunch guys laughing about obsessing over something clearly not intended for them. Not that the show is terrible or even bad but there is just something inheriently funny about the devotion. Like when people obsess over a bad movie or something.
So seeing the majority of the people in the movie being totally 100%srs about a lot of this stuff was just sort of alienating.

At least they weren't the super creepy bronies (I hope they weren't. I haven't seen it and I don't totally remember if a ton of non-brony fans brought up shit about it. I just remember some shit going down about BronyCon).

Really? I have a cousin who's a brony who found my dA and I've always gotten the impression that he is 100% srs and into it. Or at the very least I don't know him well enough to know which emoji and <3 combos he uses are ironic | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Like there are serious bronies maybe I'm just projecting a bit? Like i tend to get into things jokingly but then eventually it becomes the real deal. This is what happened between me and high school musical in the last few years.
I just felt like the movie focused a little to heavily on the people who are like "it chenged my lyf man". Which could easily be true it's just a little hard to relate to. Not because it's a girls show. But because its just a fandom period. Something fun to get into and obsess over. Like i was once beyond obsessed with Lost but i dont know if id ever be hammy enough to say heavy messages about how it "changed me!"

It used to refer to the part of the Friendship is Magic fanbase that was older than the target demographic (and even then, it mostly meant guys rather than girls, although sometimes older girl fans were called pegasisters because bronies didn't always seem gender neutral), but these days it refers to this section of guys within that demographic who are assholes and make shit like the Molestia meme and whine about the show being for girls and not them.

Here is a more current explanation for the bronies terminology thing. That whole blog is good for learning about it too.

Just a lot of find friends with similar interests stuff. And a story about a guy with aspergers and a guy who got harassed by hillbillies for putting Pony stuff on his car etc.
And I guess LOST did change me. idk. Middle school has taught me not to be too overtly passionate about anything. It only ends in tears brah.
