Good thing it's just soccer! |
Whats funny about this is that all of our best athletes are playing sports that are actually getting them rich and famous
So its like yeah, great, the best athletes that Iceland has to offer are ranked 20th in soccer while our 8th tier athletes playing soccer because they weren't good enough at football, basketball or baseball are ranked 29th.
|
I'm pretty sure this is trolling, but American football and baseball players aren't world famous, but basketball and soccer players are, also the two highest paid athletes in the world are both soccer players.
People who'd make good soccer players probably wouldn't make good A. football, basketball, or baseball players, they're completely different sports that require completely different skills, or no skills for american football players.

The winter countries are obviously better at hockey.
I lost faith in Sweden's soccer/football chances years ago. We just had Zlatan and the rest of the team were mediocre lol. |
Kim Kallström is still alive and kicking!

There are no famous soccer players in the US. American athletes for the most part are American, therefore they don't give a fuck about soccer and pursue American sports that they can become rich and famous in America for doing so.
Also, you can't tell me that if you had LeBron James, Steph curry, Antonio Brown, dez Bryant, Bryce Harper, Mike trout, etc. On a soccer field from the time they were 5 til now they couldn't whoop any other countries ass in soccer or anything else for that matter.
Shit, I'd take those guys right now and they'd probably qualify for the world cup.

Actually more and more famous soccer players (that are near retirement) are/have been coming to the U.S. because here they can get more paid at their age, like Beckham, Ashley Cole, Gerrard, and Lampard.
Where I live I pretty much only see baseball and soccer fields btw, soccer is on the rise here.
Out of those I only know LeBron James, if he trained from age 5 he might have made a pretty good soccer player.
But that is because basketball requires more than just athletic abilities, unlike American football.
A great soccer player needs to be technical, athletic, and smart.
Some guy that's really good at running directly at another guy would probably never make a good soccer player (:

I love sports and never got into soccer. My best friend wakes up at like 7am on Sundays to watch European matches. He's a huge Arsenal fan. Idk I don't get it

I did this when I lived in DC. I don't get why people are Arsenal fans either. ;) | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |
