I didn't think it was anything too special in terms of Marvel movies. Didn't really stand out above many of the others. Impressive action sequences but not much beyond that stood out to me. I thought it was cheesy as fuck at times |
What other superhero movies do you like? Is it just not your thing (comic book movies)? |
The first Iron Man, Spiderman 1 and 2, Dark Knight trilogy. Most other Marvel movies nowadays seem pretty unoriginal and dumbed down IMO. They all follow the same exact mold and I'm getting pretty tired of them

The Avengers was cool at the time and handled really well I thought, but I don't really care about it at all anymore. I think all these movies bog each other down

I'm not a fan of the Raimi films, I think they aged very badly. I love Batman Begins, enjoy The Dark Knight to an extent, and absolutely hated The Dark Knight Rises. I truly believe it's the equivalent of Godfather Part III, and I actually didn't hate Godfather III as much as most people, I mean that in time it will be recognized as equivalent to the popular opinion regarding Godfather III.
I agree with you that Iron Man's good though. I wouldn't necessarily say Marvel's movies are dumbed down, there's plenty going on for Hardcore fans to mull over, but they're blockbuster movies made for mass audiences, a good chunk of which are kids, so it's understandable that such films won't have the most complex plot. As a fan of cartoons/comics, I see the films as chapters in a ongoing story and I'm content to enjoy each new chapter so long as they don't just start churning out crap with no effort put into it. That's not to say I love each chapter the same. For instance, I hate Iron Man 3. | A survivor becomes a leader...

Agreed about the chapters. I DO really like/appreciate this big universe they're building. It's a cool concept and they're executing it well. I just don't get where the massive luv for this one comes from. It was pretty run of the mill I thought

The Help, Titanic and Despicable Me all at the same time. My daughter likes all of them and she has the remote.
 | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

Well you'd have to have picture in picture in picture to accomplish that. Or just three different video players/windows open and arranged properly. | A survivor becomes a leader...

Divergent - Pretty good. Mostly faithful to the book. I feel some of the characters should have been developed more so the audience cared about certain people more but other than that no complaints.
I wanna see Cap next | |

I'm watching Pacific Rim as I wait for GoT. It's gorgeous, corny, and I love it.
