I found a great way to quit smoking. Simply try to smoke a cigarette when it's 5 degrees with a wind chill of -20. You'll either have to go inside to get back to the heat, or lose your fingers due to frostbite.

Well I'm back, she's safe and nothing of risk happened midway. But her mother was called by somebody telling her they had kidnapped her apparently (it's a tactic commonly used here, but this time it wasn't properly done). They did have her basic information though ...

Very glad to hear this.

My friend and her son were kidnapped a few months ago. It was definitely a scary time. Until then I did not realize how very common it is.

I'm glad she's okay, but that has to be a scary situation. I hope you can all stay safe and hopefully find a way to catch the people who are responsible and put an end to it

Thanks, it's something that I've heard a lot happen around, but had never happened to me ... It's weird though (and obviously worrysome). Hopefully is the last time any of this happens.

Sometimes I get my international people mixed up, but I'm pretty sure he lives in Brazil. That's a shitty situation Waka, As people have already said I'm glad everything worked out.

Peru, and as for the 'why?' Well obviously to get money. It's a type of scam done around this parts. It's been quite common here, for example, here's one way they do it: they dress up as somebody that's taking a poll in a mall or something like that, they ask you some basic information (name, phone number, they also take note of your outfit); once you go inside somewhere you normally don't answer your phone (at the movies, etc), so they call anyone in your family and make them think that they have kidnapped you (with the obvious background fake screams). Since your relative is trying to call you and you don't answer (cause you're paying attention to the movie, probably) they believe it and might end up giving money to the supposed 'kidnapper'. That's one way that happens (not my gf's case though).

Unfortunately my dong has retreated to the warmth of my inner body. I feel like a Ken doll.
