So basically it's in the hands of a single person because it comes from kings.
Not sure why they didn't make it have to be accepted by the judicial branch also.
EDIT: judicial not legislative.

OK I talked about your thing. Now can we talk about the Tarrif BS Trump is about to shove by while nobody looks. |
|
Really hoped to hear from Vlady about it to see how warranted the current panic in my industry is. |
Are you talking the steel tariffs? Given how wishy washy is presidency has been in general, I can't predict how this is going to go yet. I know he has suggested a number of crazy things very similar, had a bunch of backlash from people (including many on his side), turned around and not implemented that, then declared he "got things done". So, given key economists like Bernanke and Greenspan are currently telling him it is a terrible idea, I wouldn't be surprised if he follows the same pattern.
If he does do it, I expect things will get crazy as the EU and China retaliate. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Granted, what's interesting on all this is that a trade war would lead to lower bourbon exports and thus lower prices on bourbon.

Yeah the steel Tariffs.
He missed his deadline, but is now trying to justify it as crucial to national defense and the few things I have found about it say that some sort of increase is still coming.
This was one area where Obama shined. His hikes were gentle, but enough to rebound the industry for a time, and drop the percentage of Chinese steel used.

But with the 3 grand a month payment you will have to shell out for an economy car, nobody will be able to get to the liquor store to buy any:)

I know projects galore went on hold in my industry as his deadline approached, and a lot of construction is sitting out there in limbo right now. I would imagine manufacturing is even worse.

Tariffs and quotas are pretty dumb ways to try to improve the industry. Don't even get me started on how the sugar quota has fucked us all up so bad. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

What's amazing is that Trump thought all this stuff was "easy" until he got into office, and then suddenly he's like "Well, this stuff is hard!"
Amazing what hiring someone who never ran anything governmental and who ran numerous businesses into the ground can do to make a country great again! | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I've heard a rumor that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is planning to run for President in 2020.
If it ends up becoming a thing, then wow.
