I made this helpful diagram to show that a thumb can be a thumb, a finger, and a digit amazingly all at the same time!, while also not being a toe or the 21st digit.
A thumb actually can't be a finger because it's not
You wanting something to not be true doesn't make it true. It's like you arguing that a wolf can't be a canine because it is a wolf and a mammal, but not a canine.
Five finger discounts, ten finger typing, and that six fingered man all say you are wrong.
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?

You're just listing figures of speech like people aren't inherently stupid most of the time. A wolf is both a canine and a mammal, but it isn't a dog. Just as a thumb is a digit but isn't a finger.
Just because you don't want it to be a finger doesn't make it so.
Finger = digit on hand.
Merriam-webster says:
Quote
any of the five terminating members of the hand : a digit of the forelimb; especially : one other than the thumb
Thumb is not excluded from the primary definition, but often in speech finger refers to "especially" the non-thumbs. Cambridge English agrees again on this term.
Moreso, the term "to finger something is:
Quote
If you finger something, you touch or feel it with your fingers. He fingered the few coins in his pocket.
If you finger the coins in your pocket, are you just poking them with your ring and middle fingers? Nope, you are usually including your thumb in this.
Oxford English is the only real dictionary that specifically says "And thumb if included", but even there is is saying a thumb is a finger by definition, because it couldn't be included at all if *not* a finger.

DON'T TELL ME WHAT DIGITS I USE TO FONDLE THINGS IN MY POCKET!
Did you even watch your own video, where they say stuff like "While it isn't typically thought of as a finger, there is enough evidence to include it in the definition."
So all you've done is provide a guy saying *exactly* that it is a finger, even if he wants to then go on and say otherwise.
And thus why everything says we have ten fingers and ten toes.

Did you even watch the video? He says that there is evidence that it is USUALLY included in that definition but ACTUALLY should be properly identified not as a finger but as the first digit on your hand, aka a thumb.

No, you left a lot out. :P
He said while there is enough evidence, there are differences between a thumb and a finger so it is better to call it a thumb and not a finger. And that if you're going to be "perfectly correct" it should be called the short, first, thick digit of the human hand and the other four digits are our fingers.
Obviously people use phrases like "ten fingers" etc but that's just people generalizing. You would never specifically refer to your thumb as a finger if you were talking about your thumb and only your thumb.
"I broke my short fat finger." No, you'd say "I broke my thumb."
"I gave Ahoda a 5th digit up in recognition of fiiiiiinnnnnnallllly sending something in FElestrations." No, you'd say "I gave him a thumbs up."
