I am not a fan of figure skating but the girls wanted to watch it so we did. The short program was blah with a couple of good routines. I don’t understand the scoring to save my life

I think I'm starting to understand the scoring for everything but Ice Dancing. I watched somewhat cluelessly in 2010 and 2014 with my wife, but this year we actually watched all of the US Championship in January to preapare. I started catching on to the scoring. The color boxes in the corner help a bit

Watched the reply by Luge. Holy choke job by the German. Had such a huge lead. Felt pretty bad for him. Good for the US guy getting silver. Crazy it ended up being two kind of underdogs in the top 2

Caught up on most of the events today. Didn't watch them all but caught bits and pieces. Biathalon was freaking great. I didn't plan on watching a lot (in both speed skating and cross country I just watched like the last 20 minutes) but ended up watching the whole thing.

5000m Mens Speed Skating	+
That race between the Canadian and the other guy was insane. .002 seconds ended up separating second and third place. NUTS. Sven Kramer is an absolute beast though. He completely shattered the competition. Interested to see if he can go 3 for 3.

Mens Skiathlon 30km	+
Didn't watch a ton of this just watched the last like 15 minutes. Apparently the guy that won fell in the first 100m? Seemed like a good story. Norway swept up pretty nice. Harvey was doing well for Canada but ran out of steam at the end.

Mens 10 km Biathlon	+
As I mentioned this was cool. Sounds like it was pretty crazy with how many misses the people were having. Both of the two favorites missed 3+ shots and both finished in the top 15. I didn't realize the rules but the penalty lap seems pretty cool. This is definitely not a North American sport

Women's Moguls	+
Just watched the last three runs on this. Glad Canada got a silver but I was gutted as what Jamie talked about that girl from Canada fell at the end. Her first trick was so cool though too she definitely would have won.

Women's slopestyle got pushed back to today. Also have halfpipe too. I think they are just having everyone in the finals. Should be exciting to watch. Team Canada is playing in the semis for curling and got Women's giant slalom. Will try not to stay up too late with work tomorrow but no promises.
