Not knowing if you'd let us win with cult still alive, we had to target Jay that night and not knowing what chris might or might not do meant I had to make the kill and I had to use Zero to RB chris. It makes logical sense, especially since we had no idea that Jay could use his abilities over and over instead of one-shots, nor if he had a RB or not. If chris had an ability that could have effected, then that would have been a fail too.

Zero should have blocked Jay instead of Chris. I don't really understand why you guys wanted to attempt to block the other mafia team multiple times when Jay who was onto all of us still had his block.

Wouldn't have helped- RBing a RB doesn't necessarily stop the initial RB. I almost sent out Zero on the kill- that would have been best in hindsight.

Jay was not a roleblocker, so I don't see how Zero's block wouldnt have worked.

No, what I'm saying is that when it was Zero and me versus Jay and chris, I had Zero RB chris (just in case) and went out to take out Jay. Jay RBed me. Sending Zero at Jay still would have probably RBed me. I nearly had just sent Zero to do the kill, which would have killed Jay anyway and ended the game. But I got nervous about chris' possible role stopping things. If I'd just gone with my first instinct and sent Zero, it would have been a done deal.
