Since my surgery, beer doesn't really agree with my belly, so I'm a vodka cooler type drinker now lol Fruity ones, because I'm such a girl and Chocolate Mudshakes, mmmmmmmmmmm although one cooler and I'm a drunken sailor lmfao

Cider is essentially everything that is done to malted barley for beer only done to apples. There is a wide variety of ciders out there, from very dry almost champagne-quality, to very sweet and easy drinking, to ciders with various add-ins (like those with hops added to make a bitter hop cider).

Not sure what's available in your area, but if you know what you have access to, I can give recommendations.

This was super tasty and the alcohol, while high, wasn't as noticeable as you would think, given the ABV.

Currently waiting for my home brew batch of imitation Deschutes Fresh Squeezed. Only 3 more weeks give or take.

7.0 ABV - Very excited

Unibroue taste test, La Fin Du Monde vs. Maudite. Verdict? Both delicious!

Yep, though I give the edge to La Fin Du Monde.

Tonight I'm drinking this:

It's big and has a huge roast coffee and dark chocolate flavor. 13% ABV

For those Golden Monkey fans on this thread, Sour Monkey was packaged and released not too long ago. Definitely a different beast but absolutely delicious if you ask me.

I can't fit all my beer preferences to one post so here's hoping this thread isn't completely dead!

best beer I've tried recently was Bear Republic Old Baba Yaga. It was like 11.5% ABV and you could definitely tell, was so good though

This thread is never quite dead.

I pulled a few out of the cellar over the weekend for the cooler weather we finally got:

DogfishHead Raison d' Extra, the amped up version of their green raisin Belgian dark ale. It's 18% in its full glory.

Avery Rumpkin, their rum barrel aged pumpkin ale. So good, especially after it has sat awhile.

Sierra Nevada bourbon barrel aged Narwhal imperial stout. This was last night and is a nice 12.9%.

Avery's barrel beers are really solid. Still haven't had the d'extra. I was never huge on its little brother. Im saving most of my big beers for a bottle share atm. Got a decent collection going though, mostly from new england save for a couple firestone proprietors bottles and a prairie bomb. My cellar is more sour than stout though.

My cellar collection tends towards barleywines and imperial stouts, with no real geographical focus (though often it is more MidAtlantic just because that's where I am). I'm not a huge sour or smoked beer fan, usually because those are over sour or over smoked. Best sour I've enjoyed was New Belgium's Clutch a few years past.

My cellar remains small since I tend to gut it come colder weather, then restock it again later. My oldest is from 2010- mainly because I can't bring myself to finish the last of my case of original Bitches Brew.

I think this link will work: https://www.cellarhq.com/cellars/vladykins

I'll probably be killing some more of this this weekend.
