Maeve plz go ahead and kill those two idiots. I AM SICK OF THEM! Their scenes always have the worst dialogue too
I think this episode fueled the dual timeline theory even more. I still don't want it to be the case, but a lot of Will and Dolores' conversation(s) on the train seemed to hint at it. I forget some of the specific lines that stuck out to me but Will coming to the conclusion that the park shows you who your true self is definitely fits as part of his arc to becoming MIB. It's hard to imagine him going from this to killing Dolores' family and (possibly) raping her, but I guess a lot can change in 30 years. Coming to the park that much could've easily desensitized him
I dunno, I'm still not fully convinced but it's starting to fit a little bit better now. WE'LL SEE
Also that ending was p crazy, even though I wasn't totally surprised that Bernard's a host. The way they revealed it was well done though. Not sure what Ford does with Bernard now tho, isn't he still fired?? |

Not sure I buy the dual timeline still. Some of the stuff like the Day of the Dead parade disappearance imply that Delores dropped there and popped up with Ford. There's a few other things like that. The promo for next week seems to imply that the town they are going to is the same town Delores previously saw all the dead bodies in prior to hooking up with Will, but I have to reconstruct all that time-wise see if it works right.

The hosts were bleeding in the scenes with the ghost nation. Either an oversight or this is current day. | nav is ugly and i am pretty |

I'm not surprised in the least. If they hadn't already been planning a renewal there'd be no way they could get a second season out that quickly with the special effects involved. | nav is ugly and i am pretty |

Plus it took long enough for them to even finish up this season. They delayed over and over
I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did with all those production issues tbh, I was worried it'd be doomed | |

Possibly my favourite episode so far!
- I liked that they set up the revelation that Bernard is a host from the start of the episode, by opening with him dreaming.
- This twist makes me wonder what Bernard whispered to the obsolete host in the first episode. Perhaps he isn't simply Ford'd obedient pet.
- "This doesn't look like anything to me" Chills
- Anthony Hopkins villainous monologue was great.
- I wouldn't have minded seeing Ford on the back foot for more than a few scenes.
- I still don't like the dual timeline theory. This show is complicated enough!
- Maeve's arc is both the best and the worst part of this show. I like the direction her story is going in and she's a great character, but those two tech guys are the worst, I totally agree with Boc. They are pretty much a plot device. It seems silly that they haven't reported her, given that as soon as she was back in the park her threats would hold no sway over them. |

A bit disappointed in the Bernard twist since everyone saw it coming a mile away. Whatshername's death was good though, but even in that moment they build up to it a bit too much, Bernard snapping her neck outta no where would've been pretty shocking if they didn't make it so clear she wasn't getting outta there
Also CLUE THAT MAY SPOIL SOMETHING CLICK AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION

Bernard Lowe is an anagram for Arnold Weber, ppl figured that out real early. Either a red herring or more evidence that Bernard was created in Arnold's image. Also kinda disappointing if true, it's WAY too on the nose and easy to figure out. |
That^ plus the Bernard host twist plus the pretty likely timeline twist are all too apparent. Modern audiences are way too good at figuring this shit out (mr robot) so I hope they have a truly unexpected and clever curve ball in store
Episode was really good otherwise. Villain Ford is great. AND the idea that Ford may turn whatshername into a host version of herself is probably the coolest and creepiest thing to come out of this. That host being created on the table could be the host version of her. No one at the lab or on the board will know the difference. P. CRAZY. Big implications. It'd be a reallyyyyy cool reveal if she saw a blueprint of herself and at first the audience thinks she's a host all along but Ford reveals that she's about to become one
I do hate the douchey lab worker...but I kinda like Lutz (: . I like the thing he has going on with Maeve. And I reallyyy liked the scene last week when he was taking her on the tour around the lab, that was one of my favorite scenes so far |

I'm conflicted.
I love Maeve so much. Her character is fantastic (As is Ford/Dolores, those three are like the Holy Trinity) and the acting is impeccable. However... I feel like at this point the writers were just like "Fuck, Thandie is amazing, let's write something amazing for her" and some of it just doesn't make sense. Like... There are a lot of holes here that I feel incompetence just doesn't explain away.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore her character and where they're taking her. I just think the route they're taking to get us there is very sloppy. |

Lutz actually had understandable motivations at first for not telling anybody, like the dirt Maeve had on him, and his own personal fascination with her growing sentience. They should have kept going down that route rather than bringing in the other tech dude.
Also, the Bernard twist was pretty predictable. Vlady called it as a possibility as of episode 1, if I'm not mistaken. And after reading that clue...well, unless it's a red herring, that's gotta be true.
To be fair, I don't mind the twists been predictable if they are all revealed as well as this was. I haven't been putting much emphasis on the mysteries though, so it doesn't bother me too much. I have also avoided reading most fan theories, which has retained some of the surprise.
I did read a few theories the other day though. My favourite one is the 'Everyone is a host' theory. Pretty implausible, but I liked the implication of it.
Also, I saw this show was renewed, which is no surprise, but I also read they have planned enough material for five seasons :o
That would almost certainly mean they are going to take the story beyond the park at some point. |
