I think anything to do with FF will suck. I saw a shitty version when it came out on my birthday in like 2009, so I don't care to ever watch any of that shit again. I agree with both Shadow and Justin/ Mal's sides. The somewhat diversity is cool! More representation for other races, yay! But they're also taking an established white character, that is blood related to another white character and fucking it up. Wouldn't it have been better if they made someone not related black? Or just focus on a different franchise where there is an alternate colored character? Besides, not having a character in the movie match the character in the book or comics is kinda depressing.

The thing is this story isn't entirely based on a 50 year old story. The version it is emulating is based on Ultimate Fantastic Four... a story were a handful of younger persons are teleported to another dimension and are mutated in the process. This new origin and altering of the characters ages and personalities happened in 2004. The original longstanding origin dealt with space radiation and the first movie did cover this... but when did that movie come out... 2005. So the precious origin that should be oh so guarded is literally only a year older than the first movie... about 11 years old.

Do I think they should have been siblings for real?... sure... but I think it probably should have just made them both black if Johnny Storm was cast first and locked in the role and the entire movie's director is dependent on this actor being in this role specifically.... maybe they just wanted to highlight the strength of a bond between non-biological siblings or maybe they just thought nobody would see the movie if it had too many black people in it or they needed a hot white chick to sell movie tickets I don't really know who chose what or if FOX tried to force something on the director or if it was all pre-determined... and in addition we don't even know the full extent of the relationship between the two characters which is really the key thing... FF has always been about character interactions and how those are reflected in their powers... the smart and flexible Reed vs the non-nonsense and rock solid Ben... and similarly the wild and firey Johnny who likes to make his appearance known vs the Guarded and understated Sue who tends to fade into the background.. litterally.

They are literally the 4 elements in a team. Reed being water, Ben being Earth, Sue being Air and Johnny being Fire... and I think as long as the movie can capture those interactions and how they help and hinder each other with their extremes I think the movie could work... though I will admit it is a longshot.

Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg has responded to reports about the "Fantastic Four" reboot being "a mess." The movie is reportedly going in for some reshoots, a normal practice in Hollywood. The first trailer of the movie is said to be arriving in February. "Fantastic Four" will be making some changes to the original story that fans of the franchise are familiar with. The plot of the movie revolves around four youngsters travelling to an alternate universe, where they acquire superpowers. The role of Johnny Storm, will be played by Michael B. Jordan. Details about the upcoming movie are still under wraps and the producers have still not released the first trailer of the movie. You can not fucking say that Johnny being white and blonde is at all a part of that character. He was not written as a white guy. It is fucking irrelevant how the character looks. If you're so worried about him being black you're racist and/or don't care about the character at all, just gay and into Chris Evans.
