This was one of the worst opening episodes that I can remember. I can tell this season is going to be more about people's emotions which kind of makes it not as fun I guess.

The highlight was definitely Kat yelling at Colton for not paddling during the challenge and than Colton firing back at her threatening to hit her with the paddle.

I cannot stand 'Culpepper' at all & I did also notice that Probst is already giving him the last name treatment. Hope he goes home very soon!

Rooting for Tyson, Rachel, Kat and that's probably it. I wish Rob C was playing.

how they managed to make that possible with a sudden tribal council is beyond me

They tried way too hard to make this season interesting and I can already tell its going to end up ruining it

Except in ORGs they are fun

they need to do a season without RI and without returning players and without any idols and just do one like they did in the old days, that would be fun

The amount of great stories and situations that could come out of the blood vs water twist is really all they needed. I don't get why they'd try to throw in all this additional stuff, it just doesn't really seem needed. I KINDA get it in a way. Like RI is far more interesting when you're watching your family member compete for their life in the game

BUT, it would be far more interesting if the tribes come in for a challenge and you see your loved one GONE and you have tons of questions but you won't see them again for possibly a month. Shit like that would be really great, but it's a bit ruined with RI

I didn't think the episode was tooo bad though. I like some people well enough, and I dislike others enough to be excited for their boot. There was almost zero strategy talk whatsoever though, but that's to be expected when you know most of their focus for episode one will be on the family dynamic changing the game. The only bit of strategy at all was the sausage fest alliance on the newbie tribe. I'm sure it'll get better though

See in this season I don't mind RI. I think it introduces interesting dynamics or whatever. And I liked the first episode (maybe because I went in with really really low expectations. Survivor has been disappointing to me lately. I can't remember the last season I actually finished). We have some interesting new players (Vytas love) and good old ones. Hell I loved Rupert in this episode and I think He's gotten worse in every season. His RI plan making Candice do everything was great, especially since I don't like her!

I don't think that would be fun. Not without idols. Idols are just too good, but they should stop replanting them, that's for sure.
