Don't get me wrong, I fully expect the Gov't to waste a bunch of money trying to do that whether the evidence bears it out or not. In 2 years it will happen. If not sooner.

I didn't say the investigation was a waste of money. I have been behind the investigation itself. I am saying the hearings and proceedings will be if they amount to nothing. Think Clinton impeachment but with the torches and pitchforks pointed the other way. If there's a pile of evidence, I'll believe it when I see it. I wouldn't be surprised if there is. I'm just saying that the closest to a concrete thing I have seen is the latest emails the son inexplicably tweeted out. Most of the rest has been unsubstantiated sales material.

It wasn't inexplicable- Don Jr. tweeted them out because NYTimes had been given them and he was trying to get out ahead of the story, followed by the "fake news witchhunt" tweets by his Daddy.

presidential pardons are only federal, not state or local. they also don't apply to every crime and don't protect against civil proceedings.

moreover, you have to be arraigned first and that testimony is still discoverable. not everything is expunged.

It was a reaction to the "If it was true..." statement. There is a reason hearings aren't happening and it has nothing to do with evidence and everything to do with Congress' current makeup.

I think if they had enough to go at him now, they would make it happen.

I think once the Dems are in control, they will go at him with or without enough to impeach. The Pubs would do the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

I agree with Igor, that gathering and tying it all together is probably pretty tricky and not done yet.
