I went to watch a Royal Ballet livestream, but instead there's a talk on about the celesta and how it's been used to evoke feelings of magic and mysticism. It's that piano-looking instrument that kind of sounds like bells and a music box (if you remember the main Harry Potter theme that's actually Hedwing's theme, it's that sound). I think that talk's about Tchaikovsky, since the livestream I'd wanted to watch was a Nutcracker rehearsal.

Went and saw George Takei speak live tonight. Not a bad show. Learned some new things about his life that I didn't know before.

However, the nice co-ed that sat in front of me was illegally recording the entire performance on her phone. Who does shit like that? All the people around me starting clapping (quietly) when her phone battery ran out mid-performance.
