I love NYC, but then I think if you don't know what you are doing, it can be either overwhelming or intimidating. The key thing about NYC is it has so many people that you can find something that caters to *everyone's* tastes. Like Obscura Antiques, the shop that was featured on the Science Channel show "Oddities". (sidenote: The owners are actually really cool and down to earth).
