the power connector to the motherboard + GPU connection were way too tight. Took me forever to disconnect those

of course a lot of that was because I was pulling the GPU tab the wrong way for the longest time. I felt very silly when I finally figured that out

also I only have an electric screwdriver which wouldn't fit inside for the internal screws, so I had to unscrew those all by holding the screw bit in my fingers

Get a flexible drive shaft for the screwdriver; I got one for my drill and I've loved it ever since.

IT DOES. I can now play in glorious 4K

But it also hurts to hold a controller right now :(
