Cream cheese on pizza (with other toppings of course). |
Why do that when you can just do lumps of ricotta? | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Fried potatoes are sliced into big lumps and fried.

Hash browns are shredded, grated or finely chopped into Hash. (hence the name)

Hash browns should be the stringy cut potatoes fried crispy on the outside.
It can have a little onion in it, but should be mainly potatoes. If it is made into a big round thing, then it is a rosti.
If it is just cut up potato fried with peppers and onions, it is not hash browns. Tasty, but not the same.

My family has some great italian recipes.
My wife's family doesn't. Her whole family raved about her mom's "lasagna", which is lasagna noodles, tom sauce, diced tom, hamburger, and mozz. The secret was( and I shit you not) cooking it until the noodles were dry and kind of burnt. I choked that shit down for years before I let it slip that it wasn't good. I had to do some quick covering and add that it was because I grew up with Lasagna that included, Ricotta, Brick, garlic sausage, etc, etc, and that it was OK, just not what I was used to....
To make a long story short, several years later, my wife saw a recipe online and now she makes a passable lasagna that at least has some ricotta and a little spice in it.

We had to take some Chinese embassy officials to a dinner one time; one of the Chinese guys picked this Italian place. It was like a fancy version of Olive Garden- I swear they barely used garlic in the cooking at all. My wife and I still jokingly call it Chez Boyardee. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

No, I had told my wife how my mom makes it, but it wasn't a good idea until she found it on the internet a couple years later.
