The Vow - HBO - really good. Documentary, very interesting subject but also SO well done and so much great footage captured. Highly recommend. (I don't spoil but google if you want, it's about a cult, really just watch it.)

I finished season 1 of the French/Belgian series La Trêve / The Break. Blown away. So good if you like thriller/crime. Had a bit of a Broadchurch vibe and a bit of a The Fall vibe I guess.

I've had it on my list for a while. This is good to know! Maybe it'll be the next series I start.

this. Looking forward to the finale. I liked how

the first episode or two really draws you in and illustrates WHY these people bought into the cult in the first place before the fucked up stuff starts bubbling to the surface later. I wasn't familiar with the case besides the broad headlines so it was a great way to be drawn in
the dog bed story in the latest episode was one of the best 'scenes' yet, Mark's emotional breakdown over that was tough to watch. Really drove home how much the experience broke some of these people
also Keith has been such a fascinating character to follow, each episode seems to peel back an additional layer. The reveal that he ran an MLM scheme in the 90s before pivoting to NXIVM I did not see coming but in hindsight was the most predictable thing ever. The sentencing stuff in the finale should be vry interesting, tho I wonder how much courtroom footage they were actually allowed to get if any |
I do think they could've trimmed the fat a bit and made it like 6 eps instead of 9 but think it'd probably work better as a binge watch

lol are you kidding me
I was WONDERING why the finale felt like it had so little resolution as far as the actual trial details went (I figured it was just because they wanted to focus on the victims' perspective...which is SORT OF true) but then that cliffhanger ending and reveal of PART TWO. idk how I feel about that! Like I'm definitely interested in it since the possibility of digging deeper into the WHY Keith (and even Allie Mack) did what they did has been the most intriguing thing to me all season, but the way they presented it felt a lil cheap! Still definitely gonna watch when it comes out tho |

The Queen's Gambit
p good! Felt like the young Beth part was a little shaky but it gets a lot better when Taylor-Joy takes over the role, she was great. I can def see her getting some award love for this

Finished it last night. What a terribly sad show with minimal spookness. I enjoyed it still.

Watched Chernobyl with a friend, all 5 episodes. Wow. Best TV I've watched in a good long while. I was fascinated with how accurate everything was. The courtroom scene was so tense I was shaking just watching everything play out even with knowing what was gonna happen.

My dad and I binged Ted Lasso and I think it’s my favorite show of the year. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |
