I'm thinking Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, Jean Valjean from Les Misérables, Edmond Dantès from The Count of Monte Cristo, or Charles Marlow from Heart of Darkness.
That's 4 possibilities and we've got 4 guesses left. Is there anyone else we think it could be that we can add into the pool of strong possibilities? |
We could ask if the title of the novel the character is from is three words long, that would knock out The Count of Monte Cristo and Les Misérables, if it gets a yes. If it gets a no, it knocks out A Christmas Carol and Heart of Darkness. |

It could be Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol or Charles Marlow from Heart of Darkness. Any other 3 word title novels coming to mind for anybody that also meet all the other criteria from the other questions? |

Might as well use another question instead of a guess.
Like is the character commonly known to be wearing a hat? Scrooge wears his top hat or his sleepy cap usually right?

I googled it and yes he essentially made the nightcap famous.
Ok Mal — is the character very well know for wearing a hat (I.e. night cap, top hat, baseball cap, w/e)? | --------------------

I'd say everyone wore a hat back then. | |
