I don't want to vote for Foxy Shazam, but I may have to.

I kinda dig Blackberry Smoke. And I don't hate the Damien Jurado song.

The 3 I’ll be voting are -
Stay With Me by the Faces - Just a great song, kinda cheating IMO tho, lol. I learned something here, IDK Rod Stewart was in a band called Faces, I thought this was a remake by a newer band, so When Rod started singing I was like, damn, this dude sounds just like Rod, then about 10 seconds later I was like, uh that has to be Rod. Lol.
Magdalena - Brandon Flowers - I like this a lot, will definitely check out some more of him.
The last one is gonna be tough, a toss up between
Foxy Shazam and Damien Jurado. I like both of these but they are completely different moods.
Funkwave Remix - I liked surprisingly,
U137 - it was enjoyable
Miracle Musical - was refreshingly different, but got stale after a bit.
David Miles - liked it until the rapping started.
Skywynd - Really like parts of it, the rhythm I didn’t care for, the drums seem out of sync.
James Brown is always pretty good
Didn’t really care for the rest.

yeahhhh I guess I’m in the minority on this one but I wasn’t feeling this set of songs at all. For the other two playlists at least two songs would stand out to me on first listen, sadly that wasn’t the case here. I’ll listen through a couple more times and see if it changes
It also includes the first song that I outright hate! |
Spill the beans! Name names! |
The name is...
Excuse me miss but can I get your name?
She said my name is RENÉE
I got a whole lot TO SAY!
Can I walk you to the..SUBWAY! |
Lol, I didn’t like this either. It might be a classic hip hop song, but it just ain’t my thing.
I can count the number of rap songs I like on one hand, and 3 of those are by white dudes, so apparently I’m not doing it right.
Send it back in 30 days by Run DMC is dope tho.
I”m still waiting for Ahoda to pick something I like, I know he can do it, I got faith in him. I mean even Mittens had one I liked, that Waymon Tisdale song.

You and Mittens are on complete ends if the musical spectrum as me. You won't like anything I like just like I wont like anything Mittens likes |

Well You said you love MoTown. But the MoTown you love doesn’t seem to be the one I like, lol.
I guess I like the more 60’s MoTown sound. But I did like the first song you posted for the most part.
But that’s what this is about for me, checking out new stuff I would never listen to otherwise. I really enjoy this.

I've been staying away from those songs because this crowd will hate it. I know what my next song choice will be and I think you'll like that |

My mom has said since my late teens that I am a 60 year old black man at heart and I was definitely born in the wrong decade. (: |

I'll have to relisten to these before voting, but I don't remember a whole lot that stood out the first time. I'm quickly figuring out that my musical tastes are completely different than everybody elses.

voted for
Damien Jurado "Beacon Hill"
Foxy Shazam "Killin’ It"
I'd already heard Killin It but I voted for Boston before so I'm not counting repeats OUT!
Stay with Me and What We Call Home were on the fringe but I didn't like either quite enough to vote for them. WWCH was very similar to a lot of songs I listen to but felt a bit too...generic I guess?

Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young is still the only song I've saved from any of these. Talk about a fuckin BOP!

That was back when Rod Stewart used his powers for good. The Faces were pretty much The Small Faces with a few new members, of which Rod was one.
He also did some amazing stuff with Jeff Beck in the late 60's.

I went into my relisten fully expecting to put Havo's country song dead-ass last, because country blows, but so far it's in my top 3. You guys picked some weird songs.
