I genuinely don't know how on earth anyone could come away from that finale rooting for the siblings rather than Tom/Greg. I found the entire scene with them getting owned by Logan absolutely cathartic. And Gerri saying it doesn't serve her interests...so good.
cuz it's hard not to root for the underdog, especially when both sides are pretty much amoral anyway. I'M surprised that anyone can find Logan winning cathartic when that's just the status quo of the entire series (:
Gat damn. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a nomination sweep for an award show before. All five nominees for directing went to five different succession episodes from five different directors
didn't expect the kids to get the upper hand back so quickly, although I'm sure it'll be short-lived. Almost makes me feel bad for ol Log!
the Tom/Greg thing was just silly. I know Greg is dumb but c'mon, Tom convincing him that Logan has security cameras he watches every night was a bit much
I did like Greg snipping at Logan about his kids later
Loved everything Tom related, ofc. Him trying to talk to Logan about a possible divorce, "rummaging to fruition", and the great breakup scene at the end. The line he dropped when Shiv was roasting him about being the disgusting brothers with Greg. "We sometimes grab a drink, Shiv." He looked so dejected, his delivery was so good
Line of the ep though might go to "Congrats on saying the higher number, you fucking morons". That was perfect, really made the three of them look dumb and highlighted how silly the whole thing was. The bidding sequence was great
Alan Ruck really made the most of the Conner scenes too, I thought he nailed it. The 1% scene and his bit about how he'd still be rich but down 100mil was one of my favorite parts
Loved Logan being fucking miserable at his own bday, Cox is perfect in this role. Very introspective ep from Logan! I wonder if he's gonna die to end the series
