For a while due to what I can only presume was an update Youtube rolled out, the default videos posted with
tags, without specifying a width and height have been refusing to play due to a "Player too small" error. Now when you post a flash tag video without width and height specified, the player defaults to a size of 320x240 which should be hopefully be playable.
I've only noticed this very recently. I really don't understand why Youtube felt the need to roll out this change but I've catered for it now.

I'm going through every page on the site and renovating the code. It's a process of extreme optimisation whereby I'm completely deconstructing everything and building it back up again, to ensure all code and functions are completely working and are as efficient as they can be. Once I'm done with this process on every page on the site, I'll be ready for major release.
However part of the routine involves deconstructing some tried and tested methods and routines which have been working fine up until now. Working but not working as efficiently as they could be. As a result, I'll be replacing these with new ones which are more efficient but not as tried and tested.
It's the equivalent of deciding against patching up the car which gets you from A to B but is rusty and losing it's parts, and instead trashing it, building your own car from scratch and hoping that you'll be able to drive around in it tomorrow.
So the new pages might have their own share of errors since they are less tested. I am being quite thorough with all my checks but even now I keep finding new things I forgot to check up on. A big thing with this change is that I'm completely redoing the way the site checks your permission to view each forum, so naturally I'm a tad paranoid that people are going to see things that they shouldn't otherwise see.
During this time I want to ask everybody to be vigilant and report anything that you don't believe is right, or that you shouldn't have access to. I'll really appreciate the feedback. This is a long and tiresome process. Just updating the main forum homepage has taken 3 full days of development. Some of the pages are a lot worse, such as the thread pages.
The upshot is that when this is done there should be a significant performance boost, almost all of the kinks in the software will be ironed out and I'll be ready to release the software for the first time officially.
Main forum page is updated, like I say. Nothing visually different but it came with a couple of bug fixes and a reduced load on my server. There should also be a performance boost, let me know if the main homepage loads faster or slower for you than usual.

Added a user's online today panel to the bottom of the forum statistics. It'll keep a count of the number of guests, users and anonymous users who logged on in the past 24 hours and list all the users who did.

I can't tell if it's my iPad or the site and I suppose Natalie can attest to this if she uses hers on the site, but for some reason when I use my iPad and go to a thread and I scroll either up or down, the site automatically shoots it back down to the initial place of loading.
It's annoying the crap outta me and not sure if you changed some coding within the past 24 hours (which is highly unlikely since you said you were busy) or if I just need to reboot my iPad or something instead.
Let me know what you find.

It does it to me too...
I'm trying to remember if this is the only place it happens though, I sort of thought it happened at some proboard sites as well.

Is it after or before the thread has completely loaded? If it's before, I can understand that since the browser tries to take you to the place it "remembers" you were last scrolled to which usually counters the source code of the page. It's very annoying. I'll hit Google.

It might be a problem with Safari itself since I don't test page functionality in that browser. I'll download a copy and make sure they all work from now on. Running the install at the moment...I'll let you know.

Well, it's not a problem with Safari so that's very strange. I don't have an iPad to test but I might be able to find an emulator.

I think it usually happens when I try to scroll before the page is completely loaded. Then it just randomly skips back to the bottom of the page. | A lesson without pain is meaningless.
