Move is terrible for Ryan.
Strictly worse than voting out JP
He loses influence through Ali, which he already soured the relationship, but it was repairable.
Honestly the mistake starts at him lying to her about the vote, if that never happens their relationship is fine and he keeps a very close ally.
Someone like that who can hustle I'd want to keep around, especially as a bigger target.
As many said JP is completely useless, also Crissy has her claws deep in her.
Pretty much he's handing over the steering wheel to Crissy

For all we know Chrissy wouldn't budge, why would she wanna keep Ali in over JP when it was down to four of them? Chrissy and Ali didn't trust each other so I'm not sure Ryan could've been down to three with those two

Ryan and Chrissy are a pair. What's good for Chrissy is good for Ryan. Gets Ashley with them who is already connected with Devon. That combined with Ben/Lauren and its 7 strong game over.

Yes, from our perspective. But if I was playing and in Ryan's position, I would rather have Ali and Chrissy with me knowing if they went to Tribal again, there is no SHOT Ali and Chrissy align.

But I think Chrissy influenced this vote more than Ryan did. No way Ryan votes Ali if Chrissy is fine letting JP go. But in this instance, Ryan didn't have a choice for his long game, so he really gave up a ton of power when he voted out Roark.

And I agree with Dylan but, again, that's what we see. Doubt it shakes up that way. Dr. Mike/Lauren/Ben is a thing and Mike might stay loyal to healers for a while.

I could see Cole or Joe going early, but then things flip and go haywire.

I hate defending Ryan but he'd be in the same situation if not worse if he voted out Chrissy the round before. The issue and this may or may not have been his fault was not bringing Ali in on the Roark vote. With idols in flux, I guess it makes sense to leave Ali out if she'd likely tell Roark but he made the best option.

Also having Ali/Chrissy there is a very short term move IMO. Even though voting out JP was hyped as preparing for the merge, I think getting a dangerous strategic plyer out pre merge and exposing yourself a little bit was the real risk for Ryan.

That being said when Ali drifted to Roark, Ryan never really had a great option to move forward with.
