I really didn’t think we had to block the Vig along with targeting. But at that phase of the game, wasn’t really a better target to block.

his role said "if targeted by mafia kill, his kill is blocked".
I saw that and was willing to just try to kill him outright, but the Order of Operations in Spin's game rules made me think he may have went with traditional OoOs ... idk
I think it was better safe than sorry, which is why I really didn't belabor it, plus not sure who we should have blocked instead. | | |

You would have killed him. It was the whole "If shot by the mafia, Vigilante fails to kill." part of his role.
The role superseded the listed order of operations for that action only. For everything else, he acted before the mafia killer. | | |
