I'm now more interested in watching the 3rd place match. lol

There is no third place match....

What? Even the Copa America had a third place match. That's silly- I'd rather watch Germany and Wales than Ronaldo.

Hmm, it seems like they indeed don't do 3rd place matches..

Weird.

Miko,

Cool pics. I'm a bit of a soccer fan myself.

Oh, just saw this! Thank you! :-D

What's been your favorite tournament so far?

Don't really have a favorite. I get confused easily by all the different tournaments lol. I don't watch nearly enough international soccer to have an informed opinion, but I do enjoy it when I have the chance.

It was sad to see Ronaldo get carted off the pitch. It was hilarious to see a moth landing on his forehead like it didn't give a fuck. I'm conflicted.

I'm pleased with this outcome! "Team loses best player; wins anyway" is a compelling narrative.

Not as lucky as Denemark winning the EC in 1992, or Greece winning in 2004, but it's def up there as the most 'wtf' type victory. It's good for them, but I'm not going to say that they deserved it, cause they profitted BIG TIME from this format change. In any other EC they would have been out in the group stage.

Really bummed out about France though, they were clearly superior this entire tournament, I don't know what went wrong.

But it is cool for Ronaldo that he'll be able to end his EC career in such a 'full circle' fashion. Losing against Greece in 2004 in the finals whilst Portugal was playing at home AND were the 'expected winners'. It's a complete role reversal now. Portugal wins against the 'expected winners': France, who also happened to be the host nation this year.

It's kind of poetic in a way.

And even though I am not a fan of Ronaldo, the fact that 2004 was his first EC and this one is his last one, is pretty cool to see that it all unfolded like this.

But yeah, France was robbed (they should have played like they usually do).

A great, great tribute!! Makes me so tremendously proud that I'm from Europe and have had the fortune to expierence all the hype at it's finest (in 2010, 2012, 2014).

This year I'm in the US, and then next year I'll be heading to New Zealand for a year, before coming back to Holland right before the 2018 World Cup in Russia. So I'm pretty stoked for that! Ofcourse I have a bunch of stuff in between to look forward to as well.

But this was the first year I wasn't able to watch everything because of the US time difference, it was the first time since the Austria/Switzerland EC in 2008 that I didn't watch all the games, which got me pretty sad, haha. But looking back it actually makes me more excited for the tournaments to come, as I'll be precisely in the right timezone during the next World Cup! :-D
