also I think it makes sense for tai. Obviously if he was going to give the super idol to scot, he would have voted for aubry (not scot) and aubry would have left 3-2-0

But that puts him in a final 7 in a shitty spot with no idol. in his mind, i imagine, he sees himself, jason, and scot as on the bottom and the other 4 clearly going to take at least one of them out. and in reality, he's 4th in that alliance, too, to julia. so based on his perception and reality, it was way better for him to go into the final 7 with his own idol, his own extra vote and an option in aubry going forward.

and he can be at peace with himself now lol
