If it's a dell they will send you a replacement monitor. They aren't hard to replace.

I've had my MacBook Pro for 7 years and it's beginning to slow down, get's hot at times, some letters don't work and it freezes up on the internet sometime so I think I should get a new one since I'm starting a one year paralegal program and need to do a lot of work. I think I might get another Macbook Pro but it isn't exactly cheap. Anyone have any other suggestions? Mostly going to be for schoolwork, watching shows and occasional editing of videos, etc (want to learn).

Considering the fact that if I just went with it that I'd buy another MacBook, let's go up to $1500

This has comparable specs to a MBP and is a couple hundred cheaper
