lol I like Gervase but how the hell did he get that tired that early in the swim. And how could you gloat when Aras quite literally dragged you through it. It'd be kinda funny if Marissa left for it

I hated it. Not really but it was really bad. Vote wasn't very surprising the way they had set it up. BRAD, because Culpepper isn't catchy and there is two of them, is super annoying.

My dream team of Tyson and Rachel got a wopping 0 confessionals after the intro and Rachel was the only one without a TC question.

LIKE COME ON CBS, you didn't bring Tyson back for his strategic cunning, you brought him back because his confessionals are the shit.

If Aras can get in good with the returnees, I could see him and Vytas running this game til past the merge.

Tyson and Gervase are still my bros.

Vytas, Rachel, Laura M, and Aras are p. cool.

Thats about it I guess. Hayden and Kat are cool.

That vote out was dumb.

I also HATE voting people out before the game even begins, just stupid, even with some returning players, and no, redemption being there doesn't make it better in my eyes.

Why no votes for Tina? Thought that was a little odd. Pretty surprised at Candice too, she is pretty solid in challenges. Good move by Aras voting Gervase I thought.

Like Tina, Hayden, Aras and Vytas so far.

My Tohts:

John - I'm trying to remember who John is but I can't.
Aras - I liked him. I thought he was a douche his first season but I liked him here
Vytas - Again. Really liked him. Would love to see him go far
Monica - Why is she back? Oh. Famous husband.
Hayden - He's the BB dude right? I'm surprised he didn't go super douche right away.
Brad - lol He was weird but I enjoy his presence.
Katie - Who is this?
Laura M - Meh
Tina - I never gave a shit about her but I guess I liked her ok...
Tyson - Tyson God
Laura B - Meh
Gervase - lol This guys a trip and a half. I hope he eats bugs again
Caleb - Who is this? Coltons Boo? I liked him
Colton - Surprsingly I wasn't filled with hate and rage when I saw him! *see's preview* ...oh.

Rupert - As someone who was not excited to see him again, boy did I enjoy him.
Kat - She didn't do anything
Ciera - Did she do anything?
Marissa - Who cares. lol at getting booted for that.
Rachel - I can't remember who this is.

Why no votes for Tina? Thought that was a little odd. Pretty surprised at Candice too, she is pretty solid in challenges. Good move by Aras voting Gervase I thought.

Like Tina, Hayden, Aras and Vytas so far.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing about Aras' vote. Seems he originally voted for Candice (based on the length of the scratch out) and changed it to someone who would obviously not be a target.

I think had they known Gervase was going to be that pathetic in challenges, they might have changed their mind.

Initially with the vote out, I was like "Ok with Redemption it makes sense" but then I go "Someone is going home no matter what...they are fighting for their lives from here on out and they technically don't get to play the game until they are destined to return." I wonder if they'll return sooner than they have in the past.

I knew the swapping places would be interesting, but I didn't think anyone would do it...except Rupert. I think it's funny how much game Laura and Rupert talked before the game started and Probst even said that he thinks Laura isn't very self-aware of how she would be perceived and that was definitely an eye opener for her. But of all the people, the ONE person in the game who would likely take their loved ones spot is voted out. Classic! I knew he wouldn't give a second thought.

I thought the same thing as you, Curtis. I hope Rupert goes first or better yet I was hoping Laurs would be first voted out..had they lost, she just might have been. My mom was angry wondering why I dislike Rupert so much because "he's such a good guy" so I explained to her how he is just likable but sucks at playing the game. Plus, the way he acted in HvsV left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Gervase gloating like that was lol and I thought Marissa was smart to try and play herself like she did though it obviously didn't work. I didn't like her much anyways though so it's whatever, though Katie got VERY lucky.

Lastly, Brad will talk himself out of the game. That's all.

I want to give a cast run down, but I'll do that later.

Alright, having just watched the episode:

Aras - I'm enjoying him so far. The dynamic between him and Vytas is pretty interesting, especially since it kind of seems like Aras views their relationship as a lot more irreparably damaged than Vytas seems to. Their relationship is actually scarily similar to my relationship with two of my siblings, so it'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

Brad - You can definitely tell that Brad is a man who does his body and not his brain for a living. It's actually really funny to me that they bent over backwards to get him on the show, and now they're making him look like a total wackjob. I don't think that he'll be able to pull the leadership thing in the long run.

Caleb - He's a hell of a lot more butch than I was expecting him to be. Honestly, it's weird to me that a backwoods, down-to-earth type guy would wind up with a prissy spoiled brat like Colton.

Candice - I was thrilled that she left first, but I can't help but feel that it had less to do with Candice herself than it did with the fact that she and John were last-minute replacements for RC and her dad. Still, it was hilarious to see her reaction to it, and the fact that she's basically letting Rupert manipulate her into running the Redemption Island camp singlehandedly is even funnier. She's driven by pure hatred for the guy, and somehow it's not occurring to her that she's doing everything for him.

Ciera - Definitely one of my favorites on the loved ones. I was surprised that they aired all of the stuff about her pregnancy, and all that - usually Survivor keeps that stuff under wraps. If any of the girls manage to survive, I hope it's her.

Colton - I don't buy the contrition for a second, and not just because of his little paddling freakout and the next-episode previews. The guy's a country-club trust-fund kid with craptons of money. I don't realistically expect that he's really dealing with all kinds of widespread ridicule. Sure, they don't like that stuff in Alabama, but the rich crowd generally turn a blind eye to that sort of thing. Frankly, I'm astounded the guy got past the first vote.

Gervase - Oh man. I laughed so hard at him epicfailing the swimming portion, then taunting the other tribe for no apparent reason. The fact that they voted Marissa off literally just to spite him even though they had obviously the least supportive relationship out of any of the pairs was just golden.

Hayden - Eh.

John - I dunno what to make of him. Getting randomly weepy about Candice getting voted off was weird. I think he'd have been smarter to take her place, if only because Candice would have been in an amazing position on Tadhana. If she had gone in there as the only veteran, she'd have had a massive advantage. If he had

Kat - Burst out laughing when Colton was threatening to hit her with the paddle, and she yelled, "Oh hell no."

Katie - I wish she had gone instead of Marissa, tbh. I think she's boring and pretty useless.

Laura B. - I think she's pretty toast, but who knows? I thought the same thing about Lisa in Philippines.

Laura M. - Loved her in Samoa, loving her now. I was surprised she got so many votes at the beginning, because she's a solid competitor and a workhorse around camp. Her talking smack about how she was going to take Ciera down was awesome, too.

Marissa - I got definite NaOnka vibes from her, so I'm kinda glad she's out already.

Monica - I was a little bit weirded out by her. You'd think if anybody was liable to be like, "Oh, we can't trust Colton," it'd be her, but she seemed to be going up to him right off the bat. Like... really?

Rachel - She seemed pretty sensible from what little I saw of her.

Rupert - Robette's favorite player. I liked that he took Laura's spot on Redemption, even though he had a hell of a lot at stake. He could pretty easily have shattered Boston Rob's record for most days played, and it seems like Galang would have basically welcomed him with open arms and let him go far, so it was actually a pretty huge sacrifice on his part. I also laughed really hard at his Redemption Island ploy. The fact that he's dicking around with Candice like that is laser-guided karma on so many levels. She screwed the Heroes over in HvV. Now she's forced to slave for the guy that she hated most. She bitched about Rupert getting up early and doing all the chores in the morning. Now he's not doing any of them. It's glorious.

Tina - I liked seeing the competitive side of her. I'll be interested to see how she does this season, and an alliance between her and Laura M would be absolutely amazing to watch.

Tyson - Who did he piss off at CBS? Like, seriously. The guy got Galang fire on day one, he's one of their most solid challenge competitors, he's comedy gold... why on earth are we not seeing him?

Vytas - Probably my favorite so far. I love his backstory, and he seems like the only one of the guys that's actually interested in getting to know the women - that's probably going to pay off in a big way come some kind of swap, and I could see Vytas going on to be a dominant force in the game.
