Done with basicallyyyy every side quest that I’ve come across. Last one I did was the stuff with Cachino. I sided with him against the other two bosses and let him take over
Now I’m finally diving further into the main stuff. I fiiiinally confronted Benny, been putting that off for ages. I wanted to go back and talk to House so I let Benny off the hook and said I’d be back and then he sent his goons after me and ran away to Caesar. Also I talked to Yes Man. His offer is intriguing, but I don’t really wanna become KING of the strip and control the bots at all? That seems to be what he was suggesting. But I also don’t wanna side with Benny and don’t wanna side with Mr House if he’s gonna try to wipe out the NCR. So idk what to do, I can’t tell what the ~good path is if there even is one. But I’m mostly being an NCR bitch cause like....what else am I gonna do, side with Caesar?? Hell naw. NCR isn’t perfect but they’re certainly better than the legion and they’re not bad enough to side with House and KILL all of them. I’m hoping my options become more clear as I continue
Next order of business is hunting down Benny |
This is where you need to start being reeeeaaaal careful about how far you go with each side. The save I finally beat the game with, I was playing as a die hard NCR nut. Dressed NCR, used NCR equipment, sided with them on everything... but I was so intrigued by Yes Man, loved his scenes and enjoyed his missions that I kept doing jobs for him and before you know it, I was too far along into his arc that I was forced to side with him. Kind of made for an interesting story arc I guess!
Really there is no right answer imo. Everyone in the game is a shade of grey, except the Legion which is obviously evil. Even the Powder Gangers are sympathetic to a point. Just know your followers will all have very different endings depending on what side you choose. |

Yeah I was kinda nervous to continue, that’s why I switched over to DLC. Maybe I’ll just binge all five now?

Honest Hearts done! Nearly in one playthrough
I enjoyed it a lot. I've seen it get a lot of flak but idk, I had fun. It didn't reinvent the wheel whatsoever so I guess if you played NV back when it was released and then waited some time for this to come out it would be pretty disappointing. But for me it was a fun lil break from the main game. It was REFRESHING having this new unexplored map to run around in after spending the last ~many hours crawling back and forth through Freeside and the strip over and over
Liked the environment even though I was so worried I would miss stuff in all of those complex canyons, but it seems I covered everything very thoroughly and 100 percented it. Loooved the story about the survivalist, tracking side stories like that is some of my favorite shit in video games. It's why I love Bioshock so much. I was excited to read each one of his journal entries and then kinda sad when I eventually found his body :( . His gun is sweet tho. I fucking crushed white legs in his honor with it
When I heard about Joshua Graham in the main game I was hoping they'd do more with him. A DLC centered around him is a fun idea. I chose to fight with him over doing what Daniel wanted, he was a lil putz! I read about the other ending and I'm so glad I went with mine. I spared salt upon wounds though, didn't wanna go full bloodthirsty or anything. Fun stuff, I liked the ending narrations

Old World Blues next. I think I'm just gonna jump right into it instead of continuing on in the main game rn
Edit: Or Dead Money next?? I read conflicting things about the order they should be played in. Consensus miiight lead OWB after Honest Hearts?

if you wanna save the best ones for last I'd just knock out Dead Money next, it's easily the weakest of the DLCs

Hey yeah do that, maybe I'll catch up and do OWB with you.
I liked Honest Hearts tbh. I don't mind Dead Money either, I just find the enemies really annoying. I love the companions though a lot. And the ending is great. Lonesome Road was the only one I didn't care for at all and I nearly rage quit cause I couldn't beat the final boss. |

FIIIIINALLY finished Dead Money. Woof! That was rough
I played this game like every day until I got to Dead Money. Then I stopped for over a month, I just was not compelled to finish that
Hated the speakers and the beeping, hated the poison clouds and the ghostly enemies, hated the traps everywhere, hated the Christine ‘dialogue’ and the God/Dog stuff. Navigating any of that just wasn’t….fun. It was a chore
The ending was okay. I didn’t travel long enough with Veronica for the reveal that Elijah was her old mentor to land. I think that was a reveal? It’s been awhile since I’ve talked to her
Anyway it felt amazing to be back in the wasteland again. I might just start OWB right away though. I really wanna play these and then progress into the final missions in the main game

heh
It's time!! SOMEHOW it's been 2.5 years lol, what the fuck
I just reread this whole thread and it was a nice reminder of things. I didn't take a step into OWB so that'll help at least. Though tbh I kinda wish my save was in the main game so I could ease back into things by fucking around on the outskirts for awhile, but hopefully I pick things back up quickly enough

I was wanting to play along with you here because I too never played OWB somehow despite this being my favorite game ever, but it keeps crashing :( |
