I dunno, Natalie. I didn't play much of Mario Kart Wii, but the bits I did play didn't overly enthuse me. I enjoyed MK64 and Double Dash a heck of a lot more.
It took me until last April to get around to buying a 360, because I had a complete loathing for the original Xbox and most of the people who played it, but I've actually enjoyed it a heck of a lot more than the Wii, if only because it just seemed like a lot of the games I was interested in playing (Fallout, Left 4 Dead, etc) weren't compatible with it. I doubt if I'll buy an Xbox One, because I know that marriage will (and should) put a significant dent in the amount of time I have for gaming, and grad school will put a massive strain on me as well, so I can't see me having nearly enough time to justify spending the thousand dollars or however much they'll want for the cruddy thing.
I'll probably buy up a lot of cheaper 360 titles once One's release date gets nearer (I've had my eye on a Red Dead Redemption combo pack for like forever, but I'm such a tightfisted person that I can't bring myself to pay more than $20 for it), then just enjoy those for the foreseeable future.
"If Rebekah could keep doing this, she could gain favor and become a ruthless dictator."
Microsoft hired people to post positive comments about the Xbox One. If they just did away with all the stupid shit no one wants, they could avoid all this.
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
