I help coach my son's team, so I've become more interested in watching since then. I'm still bigger on participating instead of watching, but we go out to a DC United game at least once a year now to watch live and we'll be watching US's 3rd finish match later today.
My personal favorites in the Euro Cup are all dying in the Round of 16 so far. Or as my buddy in North Ireland posted: "We've now been kicked from Europe twice in the past three days." lol

Noone talks about anything else in Holland, so I kind of grew up in a culture surrounded by soccer. Where are you from Vlad? |
Raised in Northern California and of mostly Irish descent (with a mix of other Euros in there). Wife is third generation German with a few other Scans thrown in for good measure, including having a last name with double vowels to make it official. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Ah cool!! Have you ever been to a Europe before?
Also, I'm bummed about Ireland losing. Whoever wins out of Iceland or England will go up against France.
Ugh, an Ireland vs Iceland match would have been amazing. I'm hoping for an Iceland win though. They are the clear underdogs, and I don't think they ever dreamt of making it past the pule phase, they also had a decent placing within their poule. So I'm excited if they can potentially pull an unexpected win! England hasn't been doing to good these last couple of championships. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Germany vs Slovakia is a given. Slovakia was already lucky to make it this far, and a miracle would have to happen for them to win. It's already 1-0 for Germany and the match just started.
Holland and Germany are clear rivals in soccer (As history shows), so there aren't too many fond Germany supporters where I'm from, haha.
But looking at it from a real match perspective, Germany winning is going to make for an AMAZING quarter final match for whomever wins against Italy or Spain. Fuckin epic.
A bunch of my friends who are hardcore soccer fans are getting super excited for that quarter final match! | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Yep. First trip was Czech Republic for almost three weeks in '97, then we did Ireland in '00, Greece almost right after September 11th happened in '01, and southern England in '09. (Kids kind of kept us from traveling to Europe starting in '03).
Czech Republic was hilarious, because my wife and I looked and dressed "European" enough that first they;d try Czech on us, then German, and eventually work their way to English. The guidebooks tell you to "Watch for pickpockets in Old Town Square" and a lot of tourists kept watching us while we were around (we were usually in all black and I was wearing my trenchcoat or leather biker jacket, depending on the weather). | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I got a dental bill and I'm like "Why don't they have online payments?" I had to dig my checkbook out from under a bunch of movies and I don't know if we have any stamps. The post office isn't far and I could just walk there and get cool stamps, but that still requires getting dressed and being outside.

A spice organizer... a spice organizer. I don't even own *a* spice, let alone many spices that would necessitate an entire organizer. What am I gonna do with a spice organizer?

Oh wow Vlad, I just put on the livestream of Italy vs Spain during OT (it was 4 minutes), the standing was 1-0, but Italy scored as soon as I put it on!!
It was pretty awesome. What a huge dissapointment for Spain. But I'm happy for Italy. That Germany vs Italy match will be amazing (yes, Germany won 3-0 against Slovakia). | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Spain won the last 2 EC's (2008 against Germany, 2012 against Italy). What an amazing redemption match!
Also fun fact: Italy has never won aginst Germany in a EC (or WC if I'm not mistaken). | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'
