In regards to Euro Cup soccer:
Damn, talk about Croatia being fucking robbed by Portugal.. From Croatia being above Spain in the poule rounds, to losing against a third place pouler team - Portugal (Who was already insanely lucky to make it to the Round of 16..)
Hmm, I guess Portugal won fair and square under the circumstances. Can't say I'm too fond of the new UEFA system though.
But we shall see what it means in the long run. Atleast this new system will give us a Italy vs Spain match. Which is bound to be epic. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Was watching the game with the wife while we were out eating mussels and drinking beer. The Croats were on the attack most of the time, but the Portuguese defense was pretty solid. It was interesting to see the winning goal come with so little time left in OT play and right off of a Croat header of the post.

Similair thing happened (time-wise) during the World Cup finals in 2010, between my home country (Holland - who was inches away from their first world cup win) and Spain. In OT Spain scored. I was in a bar -yes, minors are allowed in bars in the Netherlands during these types of occasions (even get a shot from a waitress when Holland scored once -I was 13 I believe then-, hehe) but anyways, the entire bar went silent at that moment when Spain scored. We were so close, and the bike home from downtown was a pretty grim expierence. A lot of angry -drunk- sports fans, considering Holland is a huge soccer country.
Still pretty shocked they didn't make it past the qualifiers this year, it rarely ever happens. Usually when they do make it on, they always make it close to the finals.
BUT ANYWAYS, back to Ireland v France... Ireland just scored, and considering this EuroCup is being hosted in France, the entire stadium will be silent if Ireland wins, haha.
PS. the shot was nasty, and have refused to have shots since then. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Noone talks about anything else in Holland, so I kind of grew up in a culture surrounded by soccer. Where are you from Vlad?
