I will DIE laughing if they beat England. I live in England and England fans are insufferable because they actually think England is good.
I'm rootin' for BELGIQUE. |
Same!
They always seem to need to be taken down a peg, even though we've been shit since 1966! They aren't fooling anyone but themselves.

All of their players are such glory hunters--they never know how to play as a team.
Also lol at Daniel Sturridge thinking he's still relevant. Boy, your ship sailed years ago. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

Looks like most Brits want to exit the Euros 2016 according to early results.

This is gonna be interesting.
People are going crazy, the pound has plummeted, and a bunch of my remain friends on FB are saying that those who voted out are basically little englander racists!
I think it was the right decision, so it probably wasn't (:
It's hard if not impossible to say how it will play out. I wanted to believe in the EU, I really did!

It reminds me of the old Cyberpunk RPG, where the UK left itself out of the EU and slowly degraded with the US, while the rest of Europe formed a super power bloc and eventually built the Crystal Palace space station at L-1.
The timeline is waaaaay behind, though. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Doubt it's going to go that way in this reality ;)
It looks like this could be an existential crisis for the EU. Denmark, France, Greece and Spain may follow with their own referendums. A lot of Europeans have been watching this vote.
Glad it's over! It's dominated everything in the news non stop. That said, I am slightly concerned that David Cameron hasn't triggered Article 50 (which in my limited understanding confirms that we are leaving and begins the process). He has announced his resignation and says he wants to leave it to his successor to start. My concern is that he is stalling whilst preparations are made for a follow up referendum, which would suck balls. But I'm probably being paranoid. The vote was close (52% for Leave to Remains' 48%) but I think it was conclusive enough to put the matter to rest.
The trouble is, 15 million people voted to remain. The country is divided, and that isn't going to change overnight. For people who live in England and Wales, I think they need to accept the decision and try and make it work, regardless of their opinion that we have made a mistake.
But in Scotland and Northern Ireland remain won convincingly. So yes Herm, a second Scottish referendum and eventual independence is likely. I do find it odd that they want to stay in Europe yet so many also want independence from Britain. Not sure why the Scotts prefer Brussels to London!
Also, I am not sure how plausible this is, but we might even see Northern Ireland secede, and maybe Irish reunification could be on the cards.
I'm not bothered by the prospect of the breakup of the UK. It seems to be held together more by sentiment than anything nowadays as far as I'm concerned. More power to Scotland if they want to go their own way. It's their decision. And Irish reunification would be a great thing to see (again, I'm not sure how realistic this is). Great Britain will be no more, but I don't see that necessarily as a bad thing.
Okay, sure, I guess you could say that we all should be joining together and becoming more united in today's world rather than regressing back to smaller nation states. The European Union started off as an amazing project which helped bring Europe together after two of the worst wars in history. But it seems to have become something rather ugly in the past 20 years in my opinion, and reforming it seems impossible. Perhaps I would have voted remain if the EU didn't appear to hate democracy.

The best thing about Brexit though is that we can finally take our revenge on Iceland.
